Top 5% put chips in a bag and came back for Day 2.

All Day 2 players returned ITM.

How? Math.

If the 11AM Wed Flight 'A' gets 150 people and the Sat Flight 'G' gets 400 people then how is it equitable to play past 12.5% and into the money.

In this example
ITM: 51st Place on Sat or 19th Place on Wed
Make Day two: Play down to 20 people and 8 people.

There will be some monster stacks going into Day Two from Saturday that will dwarf even the biggest stacks from the Wed flight.

I have played in many two day tournaments. All either ended at a certain level, number of people remaining, or when Money reached.
Never played in one where multi day 1's played past that Day's Money-Bubble.

I will be in Baltimore for the weekend and looking to play some 2/5NL

This casino is further from my Hotel - is it worth the extra trip to play, over visiting Caesar's Horseshoe Casino in Baltimore?

Any tips / pointers / area of interest either in the poker room or area?

Much appreciated...

Played the WPT main and cash last weekend and had a pretty good time. One thing that was surprising is that the poker room no longer has food runners. A lot of players, myself included, expressed discontent about this change. It seems like having food runners means players stay at the table longer which is better both for the casino (more rake collected) and the players (more action). What was the reason they were removed?

On a side note, when is the next major buy in tournament at MD Live?

Always happy to hear someone has a good time. We stopped with food runners some time ago, as the F and B department couldn't stay staffed. We, the poker room, are taking over this ASAP. Expected to be in operation near the end of October. We'll be ordering from a special menu. We won't be going to all outlets, but it will be 24/7.

Our next major tournament will be the Maryland State Poker Championship in January. Stay tuned.

Thanks

Mike

MSPC! MSPC! MSPC!

Can’t wait for the details Mike. I did mention a few things about day 1’s being super long to Nitty J. He said he will keep in mind.

Folks, I recently received some special bonus day for Gold Card Members in October. I can’t seem to remember the exact date.

If anyone received something similar in mail please let me know.

Is there a Blog or other online with updates on the PSPC Pokerstars Moneymaker where can review news and results?

in particular:
Flight qualifiers
chip stacks
Flight Duration.
Flight Entrants

I saw a flyer yesterday that listed just Day 1 qualifiers and chip stacks, & total entrants both flights day 1.
If there is not a blog online for PSPC then can the individual Flight Durations & individual Flight Entrants be added to Printed Flyer or at least posted here on 2+2.

What Level does Day two start?

I liked the play stopping at a certain level or atleast in the money (stop when you hit 12.5%). This top 5% runs too long for Day 1’s.

+1

Also I suspect Saturday Flight will have much larger field.
Stopping at 12.5% or at certain level then the chip average (or standard variation or range of Day Two chips) would be about the same across all the flights.

If Saturday gets 250 or 300 (or more then) then very probable that some people come off Saturday with Crazy Monster Chip Counts that just dwarf the field. Just the nature of having to play down to 5%.

Another reason those from the bigger field on Saturday will have an advantage.

I can see why you’re skeptical, but the 5% dynamic does not automatically force larger flights to play longer.

First two flights were 116 and 171 entrants with 6 and 9 plrs bagging respectively.

The larger flight burst the Bag Bubble 2 minutes and 26 seconds sooner, even though there were 47.4% more players to get through. Avg stack in both flights worked out to be right around 24 BBs.

Fri Night flight largest over all previous. 293 entrants. 15 bags. 37 total players ITM.

They bagged two full levels BEFORE the flights with less than 100 or more fewer players. (6K/12K/12K BBA lvl).

Avg stack still in the neighborhood of 400K chips because 5% of any field size is going to leave everyone with close to 20 times the 20K starting stack (15Kss + 5K more w/ $10 dealer add-on). Because math is smarter than we are.

Saturday’s 11:15am seventh and final flight will have registration open thru nine (9) 20-min lvls. Reg will close around 2:30pm.

I’m curious to see the final head count and bagging lvl myself.

Day 2 1:15pm Sun.

1,086 entrants across first 6 flights. Already 56 bags and $63.9K (+$30K pkg) to pay out on Day 2.

It is nearing the time of year for 'free' cruise giveaways.

Md live had been hit and miss about notifying me about it.

If you've been notified of date&time to pick up the certificates, please post it here.
Thx

They've been hit or miss for me too. For the last one, I found out by logging in to their my live rewards website and seeing it in list of promotions I was eligible for.

I'll post when/if I see it. You please do the same.

I've got platinum card, you?

the Moneymaker was awesome.
Bid Complaint however!!!!
Playing down to 5% is so stoopid. I hate it to the Nth degree.

Besides the unfairness...and besides to all the other two day tournaments w/in driving range that stop at a level or when money made.

Computers went down.
None of the ticket redemption machines work.
None of the slots take slot tickets. Cash only.

HUGE line to the cashier
Guards handing out water to those on line
