thats a lot better than most hours promotions this is over $6 an hour. often though, the games get much more nitty when hours promotions are in effect.

From the poker promo site (https://www.livecasinohotel.com/even...R%20PROMOTIONS), it is a Mon-Thu, collect on Friday. Tough to do for a working man like me. boo

Is it 30 hours a week or 30 hours a month?

Seems like you need 30 hours during the qualifying period Mon - Thu

Mike's been doing this for years. The vast majority of promo money is collected from the crowds that use his room on nights and weekends. He then designs promos that are virtually impossible for night/weekend people (ie, those of us with jobs) to collect and instead directs promo money to the tiny portion of players that play fulltime on weekdays. Either Mike is really, truly convinced that people with jobs will quit them in order to collect promo money, or he has lots of jobless friends and relatives (aka weekday daytime regs) he wishes to shower with promo money, or ......??. Once again, Mike, you are essentially taxing the weekend/nighttime players and handing the money over to the small portion of your player pool that plays heavy hours during the week. Boo is right.

Haha I'll go ahead and complete your sentence at "......".

The room is more full on the nights and weekends than it is on the weekdays. Mike has figured out how to increase weekday traffic without hurting weekend traffic.

One of the Vegas grinders called it the poker welfare system. In Vegas it's tax the tourists and give back to the local regs. Here it's tax the recs and give back to the regs.

To be fair most promo systems work that way. If a room is going to run promos it makes sense that the take from those who will come at the peak times regardless and give to people who will come at off times if there's a promo. An hours based promo just makes it more obvious. At least in a high hand promo if you're in the room for even a single hour when the promo is running you have a chance to win.

Funny thing is I don't see a promo like this changing behavior at all. I suspect the people at the brush stand could tell you right now exactly who will earn the hours for the next few weeks. And those same people would be there the same number of hours regardless.

I don’t disagree with you on who will be the beneficiary of the promo or that they won’t be playing many more hours then they otherwise would, but it definitely makes the games nittier.

Some of the regulars like to take up a seat but wander or take long breaks. I think this promo might convince them to keep them playing at a table (even if they are nitty).

Am I correct in saying that if you didn't meet the June 3rd registration deadline on the ARGEM website that there's no way to enter the tournaments this weekend?

Wifi has become unbearably slow, ever since the authentication page was changed. Speedtest used to average 100Mbit/s but now it's just 3Mbit/s and really slow tonight. (Yeah yeah, get off the phone and play poker... but even just checking news sites I've resorted to switching off the wifi and using cell data)

You made the right move switching to data. I recommend everyone does the same. I've used data in the room with no problems.

Since the buffet is gone, what's the best bang for the buck food for your comp $?

Correct. And as of week before last, 1 to 1 ratio (comp dollars to Zin dollars) for vouchers.

Can zinburger be brought into the casino or does it have to be "smuggled"in?

Does the new restaurant in the hotel, David's, take casino comp dollars?

Wifi here is still unbearably slow. I can (sort of) understand when it was restricted from 100Mbits so that people weren't streaming HD videos or using up a ton of bandwidth but my latest speed test shows a paltry 0.28Mbits download and 0.46Mbits upload. I doubt Mike has much control over this but just in case...
