Perhaps I should have said "All types of players". The difference I see between 1/2 and 1/3 is primarily in the average opening raise size, and the average pot size. And given the rake structure at live, I think that makes a huge difference. When Live added the +$1 jpdrop at $30, the 1/2 games became much tougher to beat. So many pots hover at/around max-rake %. The difference was noticeable, with many tables not hosting any winners at all.
That is why I say it will benefit all players, because increasing the average pot size, allows players to escape the rake. And even losing recs/regs will have more frequent winning sessions. And that is good for winning players and the room as a whole.
That's my opinion, and I'm looking forward to seeing how the change plays out.
