Same here; $125 every 2 weeks for total of $1,000 for me.

Love how the mailer says this change is due to popular demand for my benefit.

I wonder if there's even a handful of people out there who genuinely prefer the new system. I would have been making a couple additional trips up there this calendar year specifically for the streak bonus and I might even have tried to get to 100 hrs again to continue the streak, but now it's not worth it for me to do so.

This. I should be getting my 4th year platinum streak bonus. I've moved away from MDL but would have made an effort to go back. It's now not worth my time to do so. Pretty annoying that they changed it and are trying to make it seem like a positive for their customers.

I'll take the under on 2.

The idea that this was requested by customers—and they think that you will believe it—is an insult to everyone's intelligence.

Y'all need to send them some mail letting them know what a miserable failure this is, and how the new policy is actually a disincentive to play at their casino.

I would, but I don't play here enough to get the streak anyways.

I think the logic from their perspective is this: Thanks to MGM, some people might have decided to stop visiting the casino at the clip they were going to last year, but only come 3-4 times this year in order to cashout their streak bonus.

The payouts are designed to give them an incentive to keep coming back for the money and in the process give them an incentive to keep working on maintaining their streak.

I don't like it, because hey, some weeks, you just can't make it and you are going to lose the money. But I see the logic.

Foxwoods just did something similar. My card tier gets a free $300/month in the form of a free bet voucher or free slot play (lower tiers get smaller amounts), and can be claimed anytime during the month. Now they broke it up into 3 chunks, and each can be claimed in a different 10-day period (1st-10th, 11th-20th, etc). They did the same marketing BS of YOU ASKED WE LISTENED! These ****ing places...

Oh certainly it makes sense on their end. But it sucks when you've been maintaining a certain level of play for things like these perks and they just change it on you.

If they just fessed up and said - hey with this promo we're trying to reward and incentivize people who visit on a regular basis - then there wouldn't be too much to argue with.

I have mixed feelings. In 2016 it was rare that I ever went 2 weeks without a visit to Live. I was kind of anticipating keeping up that play but the nit rewarding promos at Live and the superior action at MGM has me splitting me time more than I expected. I'm platinum X 1 only so I guess I have 8 weeks where I'd have to visit every other week to collect my max. That's not entirely unreasonable but basically this wipes out the advantage of the streak being something that'd make me favor MDL over MGM and other factors will prevail. I put in 600+ hours at MDL last year but baring any significant changes I suspect I'll at least split my time with MGM this year.

This is pretty bad. It would've been better to just lower the overall benefit than to split it into so many parts. Very bad strategy imo, and more reason to choose MGM over this place. It's also bad since this is not poker-related, and Mike has no control over this.

I'm still waiting for my official postcard for my 4 year Platinum Streak Bonus. I'm also disappointed in the new payment system ("our beancounters asked to pay out less money, and we listened"), but for a different reason. I'll probably be there almost every 2 weeks, and will collect most of my bonus. But if they made it more difficult to collect as they did for some of you, then I could play less poker and pick up a new hobby. Alas, it will probably still be worth it for me to put in 500 hours again. Darn.

Similarly, I am enjoying the 3 hour break from the high hand promo from 4:00 - 7:00. Last week I tried to play through the break, but around 4:15 my table broke (right after I paid the blinds) and I didn't win the draw for one of the empty seats - so I had a nice dinner and a good walk around the mall. I really enjoyed that break. Yesterday I got up just before paying my blind, right at 4:01, and enjoyed a relaxing dinner and did 2 full laps of the mall while window shopping. I enjoyed the fish in the tank at Bass Pro Shop and looking through the book store. I got back to the casino at 6:30, got on the list and soon they opened a new table. It was a nice relaxing break from a long day of poker, and good to get some exercise. Next weekend I may go see a movie.

It's also a pain because sitting at a video poker machine, playing 5 pulls at 5 bucks each then cashing out for 15 dollars is tedious if you have to do it every 2 weeks.

Yes. The exact wording is ...

YOU ASKED, WE LISTENED! Now you'll receive your payments more frequently. Payments must be redeemed between valid dates and times listed at any Promotional Kiosk.

Very upset about the streak bonus. I have $1000 in mine, but am planning on taking a month long trip to vegas for the WSOP so I guess i'll be missing 2 of my streaks. I like MD live but it looks like they are making some poor changes. I would probably try and get my 3rd year platinum but if it stays like this, I may just give up and just play at MGM from now on. I have to drive an extra 40 minutes just to get to this casino.

They did offer a new tier level for poker players.

7500 hours gets you a Jade card.

7500 / 365 days = 20.55 hours per day.

But we are already 44 days into the year, and 7500 / 321 = 23.36 hours per day. Darn. That sounds difficult. It is probably too late to start now. I wish i knew of this option before the year started when making Jade would have been so much easier.

You might have to augment with spinning your cleared free play winnings on the slots.

kind of glad i didn't hit 500 hours last year
i fell about 50 short and couldn't play at the end of the year due to some family stuff.

i'd be pretty pissed as a non local if i was basically going to lose 500 dollars bc of the way the bonus is being released

I am super unhappy with the streak bonus payouts this year. I too like many of you are on my 4th year gold streak. I don't play as often as I used to, but still enough to retain the gold status for the streak bonus alone. Back in December, I was about 20 hours short of the status renewal. I went out of my way to make up those hours throughout the month. I also work a full time job plus lots of overtime so it's not an easy task to get those hours in 1 month, but I did! I was looking forward to getting the pamphlet this year to check out the dates and then see this 2 week payout window CRAP!!! It would have been nice if there was some sort of communication from the casino about the streak bonus changing this year then to be completely blind sided and taken FULL advantage of. I WILL NOT be putting in many hours at this casino this year and be taking the majority of my action to MGM instead, even though MD Live is a lot closer. Thanks Maryland Live!

Same here. MDL will do just fine without me, I have no delusions about that, but I wont be back. To get a $25 bonus would cost me an extra 2 hours of driving and probably $8-10 in gas. Forget it.

And frankly - I'm 100% sure that people like me are the reason they are doing this. Big box stores do it all the time. They put out a program like this because they absolutely know that a certain % of people wont show up at all. Its free revenue for them - or free "not losing" - however you want to put it.

The "this was requested by you" is just a complete and utter lie.
