Mike,

Now that poker qualifies for promotional drawings, is there any way to have the drawing winners announced in the poker room? It would also be great if the floor supervisors could acknowledge the winning person.

There's no way I could make it to the R-Bar Rewards desk in 5 minutes from the tables at the back of the second floor poker room.

Thanks

I think a bigger problem is that during a drawing, half the table gets up and leaves to go see if they won. Perhaps one TV upstairs and one downstairs that display the winners might be good.

This new change also seems to suggest that you can earn higher tier status with a combination of poker and table play, I hope that is true.

That's how I read it. But the poker hour % toward the tier isn't the same as other points % toward it.

For example, 50 hours gets you 50% to Gold using the hours scale, but only 20% via the points scale. So while 100 hours gets you 10k points, it has the same tier effect as 25k non-poker points.

Something is being worked on. We are still sorting through it but expect to have a tv tuned into the drawings. It's a work in progress but a step forward.

Thanks

Here's a relatively minor issue that I'd like to just bring up briefly to see what others think about it.

The Poker Night in America HU event has a 64 player cap, which is completely reasonable. However, I have a bit of a problem with registration for this event opening weeks in advance of the date of the tournament because this means that the field will be saturated with regs who will fill it up early and will have very few (if any) rec players who decide a day or two ahead of time that they'd like to play since there won't be any space for them by then. Granted, I can't be sure how tough the tournament would be if registration opened only 2 or 3 days before the event start, but I'm pretty sure that with the way it is now this could be the hardest one of the whole month to win. I spoke to the TD about this and he agreed that it was problematic but said it wasn't his call.

Yes, I'm aware that posting this here might make it an even tougher event simply by virtue of making this concern public, but I think it's better to discuss it now so that it could be different in the future.

How do you guys feel about this?

I think they just need to ensure it fills up so they're giving as much time to signup as possible. There'd be a ****show if a handful of players wound up getting 1st round byes.

You're right. I hadn't even considered that it might not fill but it's definitely possible. First round byes would be really awful.

I'm sure it'll have plenty of recreational players with the buyin being $400

You don't think it might? That's about the same amount that an average 1/2 player would bring for a day or a bit less. Saying that rec players won't be willing to play that high for a special tournament seems a little silly but maybe it's just me.

You two are agreeing.

400$ is plenty low enough for most recreational players to buy in and it will keep out the real 1/2 *******s who whine and bitch about everything (half the people who post on this topic) out of it because there isn't "enough" recreational players... You guys have no idea how good you have it at Maryland live

Mike

I just wanted to pop in and thank you. I was there Monday and saw that you are in the process of adding two tvs to the back area on the bottom floor.

Well done and thanks!

When is the HU event? Looked at the PNIA schedule a few times and didn't see a HU listed, but more than reasonable chance that I'm dumb and just missed it somehow.
