Has the WiFi been super awful for everybody recently or just me?

It is only my experience, but I have never found Maryland Live to be especially angle shoot-ish. The supervisors are well aware of the people who cause trouble and don't let them get away with stuff. Don't let a couple bad stories deter you.

Wifi has been super patch lately. It keeps disconnecting due to poor signal.

Thanks for the 411. It looks like I have a few options:

Saturday, noon, $325 tourney at Charlestown Hollywood ($5k guarantee)
Saturday, 7 p.m., $150 bounty tourney at Charlestown Hollywood (would love to give a live bounty tourney a try)
Saturday, 11 a.m., $350 tourney at Horseshoe Baltimore ($20k guarantee)
Saturday, 11:15 a.m., $150 bounty tourney at Maryland Live (could also either be a $65 bankroll builder tourney ($10k guaranteed) or their monthly $500 bounty tourney

None of these casinos have posted their schedules for February yet, so I am basing this on looking at their January schedules and assuming it will be something similar.

Which one would you pick?

Jesus Tits, whatever you do, don't go to Charles Town.

The one at the shoe is good. I've heard the Live 500 is good but I've never played it.

I can tell you a little bit about the Charles Town tourneys because this is my regular room. The fields are small. However, there is good value despite the "Jesus tits" comment above. I play the $325 most Saturdays. You get 20k chips to start, an extra 1k for registering 15 minutes early, and can add 2k more for only $5. So, you can start with 23k or 460bb. The structure is decent but not outstanding for a tournament with this buy-in. Levels are 20 minutes until level 9 at which time they last 30 minutes. This tournament usually ends by around 7pm.

Again, fields are small. The tournament might start with 8 or 9 players, sometimes more, and grow to anywhere between 17 and 35 entries. They need 18 to cover the guarantee. Last week had only 17 entries with first paying 3500 and 2nd paying 1500. It pays 3 spots once there are 20 entries. In these small field events, I find it easier to make the money and a min-cash is worth a lot more than a tourney with a larger field where a min-cash might be good for twice the buy-in.

I don't play the Saturday night bounty tourney but this one is their most popular and they get 60-100 entries. All I can tell you about this one is that it typically ends about 12 or 1am.

One Saturday per month (I think it's the 4th Saturday), they run the MegaStack tournament which gives you up to 33k in starting chips and 30/40 minute blinds. The structure is generous even though a couple levels are missing. This has a 20k guarantee and the field size is usually around 50 or so but has reached 90 at times. You can with > 10k in this one. It's a one day event that goes until 2 or 3am.

Structure sheets for all their tournaments can be found online.

The Live! Five at Maryland live has a fine structure but 40% of the prize pool is payed as bounties. I don't care for that so I only play it when nothing else is going on.

I've never played the Saturday event at Horseshoe but I've seen the structure sheets and doesn't look very good. Nevertheless, if you're in town for the last weekend of January, there is a multi-day event with the same buy-in and structure (I think) and a 100k guarantee so this one might we worth checking out just for a chance at a big payday.

Anyone think the 2/5 games will keep running strong throughout the weekend? Trying to decide if I'd rather be trapped at my house or at the casino during this "blizzard of the century." Wouldn't mind maybe playing a legendary marathon session, provided it's not a ghost town in there.

I'm planning on getting snowed in at the casino as well

This is supposed to be a long storm. Staying until Sunday is just too long for me. Especially with no options if you change your mind

This assumes the casino and poker room stays open. With two feet plus of snow it may be tough for many employees to get there. That said I'd rather be gambling than sitting here doing nothing but no way I'm trapping myself for days lol.

5 tables on Bravo at 10 til 4 on a Friday. It will be amazing if those games keep running.

I'd be stunned if many people could make it to the casino tomorrow. Right now its nothing. Once it gets cranked up and we have heavy snow with 25-30 mph winds gusting to 40+ there will be almost no way for plows to keep up with the drifts. Dont know where many employees live but travel is going to be difficult if not impossible.

Last night was an abomination....only 36 tables running and very long lists.....it's like this Mike Smith guy is incapable of planning ahead and having enough dealers on hand. Just like every holiday/expected big day, etc.

There are multiple casino employees on my Facebook news feed who can't get there. I would anticipate extremely limited functioning of this room today and probably tomorrow as well.

Bravo lists one 1/2 game running and no list. Hour ago there was also a 5/10 NL\PLO mix running. Those folks are hard core - or got themselves stranded.

The HS and CT have nothing on bravo.
