Poker needs more money coming through instead of just degenerates and although I enjoy when degens come through and dump their paycheck I would much rather have more middle class folk show up and dump even more money. Idiot degens don't typically dump much money.
Long story short: there are lots of regulars at MDL, and a lot of them have become extremely foul spoken (maybe part of their strategy to put others on tilt, and we need more non-regs coming to the room. If they are harassed they are not going to come back.
This is what I was really trying to get at. A room cant survive if all it is going to do is cater to its loyal group of degen regs pushing each other's stacks around and grinding out hours to make their reward levels.
You need more players like me to want to go to MDL. Not me, players like me. Once a month players with a lot of disposable poker income who really are just looking to have a good time and enjoy a night out. You want them to want to keep coming back to your room.
But when you let the inmates run the asylum, when you let drunk regs roam from table to table calling other players a-holes and your dealers/floor laugh it off because "Its just what he does" - thats not good for you long term. I can easily overlook the parking, the traffic, the $9 beers - that stuff is easy to overlook when you create a fun environment to play in.
As I saw this summer - and as I have seen over the last several years - my experience has been that a large majority of the popular LV Strip rooms do not tolerate behavior like this *at all*. They have no problem running out regulars of theirs - even if it just for a day.
I guess when/while the room continues to be packed, people are less likely to care about stuff like this. And if Bravo has been any indication, they've been filling up just fine. So maybe I'm the a-hole here, who knows.
