I would like to request that Poker players be eligible for the turkey giveaway if they earn 2,000 tier points. I was disappointed to hear we are not eligible.

What's the largest size jacket available?

I'm closing in on 20 hours... and am not small.

Probably already been asked but why the heck is the "Veterans Day Tournament" not actually on Veterans day? Would've been nice to have it on the day everyone actually gets off work for the holiday.

I was asked by the cage for my player's card when cashing out. I was told that there was a amount above which the cash outs are logged and I could not be told that number. This was the first time this happened and I was a bit confused. It was ~3500. Does this happen to everyone and does anyone know what it is for?

Federal law requires them to report cash transactions totaling $10K or more in a day (potential money laundering).

To keep people from cashing out $3500 three times to try to get around the requirement (called structuring or smurfing), every casino has an amount ($2K-$3k) where they note the amount and your name and keep track for the day.

If you do not total $10K in a day, they do not report the single $3500 transaction.

The number for taking your info is 3k and only applies to cash not big chips.

They also claim it's only for aml not taxes and stuff.

Thanks for the info. I play 2/5 and obviously don't get to build my stack up that much very often.

Well, the answer is, "Not big enough".

Mike, you've got some other big guys who play there. Did you stock any 3x jackets? Your 2x jacket is closer to a 1x anyway.

Another federal holiday. Another massive dealer shortage.

You would think by now that they would have figured out that their room will be crowded on Federal Holidays. I was stunned to see 70-80 person waitlists with a dozen or more empty tables.

Don't new dealers come on at 3 pm? Don't they usually start a bunch of new tables starting at 3? When I looked at 4ish, there was almost no list.

ahYup, I stayed away yesterday on purpose as I knew this would happen, the good customers do us no good if they can not get a seat.

I thought this was a mistake when I checked Bravo. Glad I did, I stayed away.

Just curious why in the world this continues to be an issue? Do they just give dealers the holiday off as well - even though in an industry like this they have to know by now there will be a spike in business when everyone else is out of work?

There can't be anyone in mgmt that will say "Oh wow, that increased business on a Federal holiday was really surprising to us". There's just no way they could say that. So, given that, why hasn't this problem been solved yet.

1) dealers aren't necessarily available on their off days if they have kids/another job/don't want to work for whatever reason

2) if available dealers would go into OT by working extra, not gonna happen

Let's be real: A single table of 1/2 or 2/5 is going to drop $150 in rake per hour, at the top end.

Plus as Zoltan pointed out, the lists were empty by early evening. What are you going to do with the extra dealers when players who have the day off break a bunch of tables because they have to go home for family dinner/obligations?

I mean, assume they could've opened 8 more tables yesterday afternoon and ran them for 3 hours before they broke:

8 * 150 * 3 = $3600 in rake minus employee costs

They'd easily make that back and more by people donking off in the pits while on the list, without adding any additional hours to the payroll.

Poker just isn't and shouldn't be a priority for casinos, financially speaking.

^^ absolutely right. Foxwoods has done it like that for years and years, they staff those days just like normal weekdays, and can get waitlists approaching 100+ on some holidays. There is obviously a good business reason behind it or these places would put additional staff on.

I received an email informing me of a free gift. It appears you can select from a number of merchandise. Has anyone chosen the apparel or blankets? I still have a turkey roasting pan from last year collecting dust in my garage!

There were about 400 people on line to pick up their gifts around 1 PM today.

Mike, any plans on ordering more jackets? or is it a "while supplies last" thingee.
I picked up a Large today but would prefer a Medium. Let us know, thanks.

Yesterday I got on the 20-40 interest list when I got there. Over the next few hours the list got up to ten but never got called. Thats fine, had a good table otherwise. But when I left around 12a, I noticed there were 8 people on the list - but the top 4 or 5, including myself, had been rolled off. WTH? I'd been paying close attention and we never got called. Do they just automatically roll people off after X hours? Really disappointed.

Couple of other nits:

- OK, yes, its a small thing - but they were out of hot dogs at 4p on a Saturday. The roast beef sandwich I got was horrid but at least it did the trick.

- Not much they can do about the tvs but it sucks to have a game you want to watch. They could put a few new ones up, maybe behind Table 2.

- Not sure there was anything we could have done but we had a dealer with *massive* B.O. Not really sure what you can do in that case, none of us were really proactive enough to say anything to anyone.

had a dealer that hustled. he dealt fast, trying to get out as many hands as he can, which I thought was great till I was in the pot.

I bet flop w/top set. 1 caller. the turn was a blank and I hesitated to Hollywood weakness.
the dealer said "come on man why slow down the game? the turn didn't change anything."

WTF?!?!?!?!

didn't affect anything. doubled up.
but was shocked that he said something about the board texture!

I actually didn't mind him saying i'm slowing down the game. I immediately thought it would give me a good excuse to do a pot sized bet.
but his second statement...
