Anyone interested in 8/16 limit? The list was called twice, but no one showed.

1. No hassle. Was told that the rule is for regular-size backpacks.

2. Was refused entry. After arguing, a supervisor was radioed over. The supervisor searched my bag then told me that as long as I "don't carry it like a backpack and instead hold it in one hand" that I'm ok.

In the meantime, several women with purses twice the size of my small drawstring were allowed in.

3. Bag was searched thoroughly. I had to remove the travel-pouch I use for my chips and cash and unzip all the pockets.

.
Thursday I purposely brought my packpack in and when the security at the casino entrance stopped me, and said "no backpacks in the Casino" I askd him to call a supervisor....and told him i was going to the poker room. i did this to get their attention that they need to change the rule ( very respectfully that is ) . He asked if I had money in it, and I said yes, he said that was ok?
I should mention also that I asked a security gaurd inside the casino if I can bring my backpack in ( before i went and got it and came back in --see above ), he said "sure no problem , you'll just have to let them search it"

I've played in poker rooms from Atlantic City to Vegas. Including ones in Tunica, Harrah's in New Orleans, Windsor, and I forget where else.

The only place I've ever seen a no backpack rule, is here at Maryland Live! I don't know why they have it, but it certainly isn't standard for casinos.

For that matter, most places (CT is the only exception that I can think of, off hand) allow players to bring in water, soda, snacks, etc. No booze - but other stuff.

from my experience on Weds, it's like 1hr 15min wait from the Bravo sign on the wall by the High limit area.
but unlike weds, this time there's also a waitlist on Bravo

The agent responded that the poker room is not taking call ins yet. Is that accurate? Or should I keep trying to get a hold of someone in the poker room first?

Thanks!
NOt taking them now as there are too many people in line and they don't have time to answer the phone My apologies

Conspiracy theories amuck. We don't have the ability to shut the waitlist down. Sometimes, Bravo just goes down for no particular reason

i dont even think there is a point of going this weekend.

By taking it down on purpose, they still draw people to a casino, who will end up waiting and certainly some of them will play slots or other tables eat their food, somehow spend money in their casino. I did that and walked away a loser without even going into the poker room. So it is a good move by the casino for profits.
Don't do it

Your casino probably isn't used to poker players who like to sit and play longer hours without getting up from the table, vs casual gamblers who hop around from slot to slot.

You also spend most of your time not playing when you're at poker table, so it's nice to bring an iPad or book to thumb through when you get the especially slow dealers. I usually just want to pack a hoodie, headphones, iPad, etc. I don't use the stuff half the time, so it's annoying to travel back out to my car to grab things.
Working on it

Yes indeed if you give us your carrier

Thanks

So since you can't call in if there was no list for 10/25 youd still have to wait in the line?

Mike,

We've been playing 15 upstairs short for last few hours. Floor says no reduced rakenon time games...only games with a drop. Can you please clarify?

DP has had a no backpack rule since Boston. No exceptions. And I don't think MDL would toss you if you pulled a granola bar out of your pocket at the table.

I guess it's for crowd control. How long would you have to wait in line before getting on the list? An hour? More? I must say I'm excited about them spreading a diverse mix of limit games. Can't wait to try it out soon hopefully.

Mike,
Since AT&T service is so bad, are there talks with them in trying to get an AT&T cell tower installed somewhere in the vicinity of the casino?
Thanks

Thank you for the quick reply. Would there be any benefit to getting it somewhere else in the casino and then going to swipe your card?

I agree but we must understand that rules are different here in MD and to bring your bag into the casino there is no reason to get upset cause they search it. Frankly if I find out they are not searching bags I will be upset and make phone calls and write some letters.
