I thought I was doing a good deed by spreading the the word but forgot we are close to NSA. Oh well, no good deed goes unpunished. However, I think you can still get in here now and then and it all depends if the guard allows it. I think if you show your platinum you may still can get in and playing 5/10, 5/5 or 10/10 wouldn't that be included in VIP? These bets are 100x bigger than the $5 slot pull and should be allow to use the VIP lounge regardless of card status.
I think the decision here is up to Mike because he's the one who has control the downstairs back room access to the lounge. Back in the day at the Borgata during the weekend, they always bring out boxes of pizza, fruit platters, and meat on the sticks for all poker players to enjoy. As I said before, there are never more than 5 people in the VIP lounge if you look inside so why not open up to include poker players? Also, if you are really consider yourself a VIP, you'd be dining at the Prime Rib not them finger food.
