Nah man wake up early and get there early which is what I did when they had a series over the summer and the games were great with lots of tourney bust outs rotating in and out trying to get their money back but still playing in tournament mode.

You're nuts...I go to wsop just for the terrible tournament players that can't adjust to cash games when they busy.

Gonna get the 2-2 mix (NLHE, 4 card PLO-hi) going at 12PM Tuesday 4/27. 200-700 buy-ins. List will start at 11AM.

Last month it ran with a list for 6-7+ hours.

Ha agree with this. I’ve played borgata cash a few times and while games generally are very good (I play 1-2), I feel during the tourny series people throw away money. Sure some tourny players are good at cash, I feel most think they are better cash game players than is true (will even say I think I’m ok but actually I think I’m a pretty bad cash game player when I’m not nitting it up).

Btw to Maryland Live; thank you for running tournaments. I see the flight $450 on derby weekend which has a great structure and will get a lot of players. Maryland is a 5 hr drive for me but I would def consider going there for a tourny series. It’s so obnoxious seeing no mtts being offer in the northeast while
Vegas/Texas/ Florida are just killing it.

Will they all be 7-8 handed or full tables?

Is there a reason the “HORSE” tourney is actually “HOSE”

Sports bar is now serving food.
Tues is the only day they have specials (so far).

$2 mini tacos (3 types), $3 chips/salsa (guac $3 extra, I think), $5 margaritas.
(How do I upload pics from my phone?)

And their Live Larger (draft) is actually devil's backbone vienna larger. ($7)
It's very good.
Note: Devil's backbone lager (bottle) is $10.

And this place isn't owned by Live.
It's owned by DCI, whatever that is.

Thus probably why there's also a 2% facilities fee

Yup.
The reason is that there will be no RAZZ in this tourney.
No Razz in HORSE = HOSE.
As to why they did away with Razz for this tourney...who knows?

It's possible that the casino doesn't have Razz in their specs. They would need that in order to spread it.

Or they just wanted to make it a HOSE tournament. That is not uncommon; some people just don't like Razz so maybe they think they'll get a better turnout without it.

Can't speak for MD Live, but I know Razz has run as part of a mix in MGM, so it's definitely an approved game in Maryland.

Casinos need to have the games and procedures in their own specs and approved by the Lottery Commission. This is why different casinos can have different straddle rules in the same state. It may be that MD Live does have Razz as an approved game and they are choosing not to spread it, but it's not impossible they don't have the game approved.

I say this as someone who works in a Maryland casino part-time and who worked (probably still does when they run again) at another Maryland casino for their tournament series.

PSA-

Guests no longer need masks to play poker. Our team will continue to wear them for now.
We expect the plexi glass to be taken down sometime this coming week
Still no food -I'll keep you posted
When the glass comes down, for now, cash games will be 8 handed and tournaments 9. This is due to comfort and capacity. We'll re-evaluate in the future

We can play Razz we choose to spread HOSE based on player input

Thanks

Mike

Well done - I'll immediately be taking my business from MGM to here until PG County stops distrusting the experts. Sad to hear you're still forcing employees to still wear masks. What exact metric are you waiting for to repeal this mandate?

Can the shift make cash games 9 handed if needed?

I hope 8/9 handed is forever. Good to hear plex/masks are on way out - been a long hiatus.

Another vote for 8 handed. But this is a room that gets to full capacity on weekends, so going to 9 handed to let more people play makes sense
