Red Roof Inn was the cheapest I found when I looked. I use my AAA discount, which they didn't really check. I think it was around 58 a night. The room and bed are not great though. I won't be staying there again.

Recently stayed at Fairfield Inn for around 67 a night (which was a weekend too!). I had to prepay for the low price, which wasn't a problem. Had no complaints here.

the listed options are a good start, I'd just google search for hotels in the Hannover/ Arundel Mills area and close the cheapest. (obv filter is red roof type places are too low class) Have stayed at the Hampton Inn though which is nice because you can walk (Mall hours only- you cut through the mall, also not a short walk but nice for some mandated exercise). The Aloft was also nice when I stayed there.

I was there. He was being berated because he was asked four times by different staff. It gets old having that conversation every day.

I am turning 50 next week and was thinking it would be cool to play in the WSOP senior event. Is there anything closer to home (Virginia) that is age restrictive? I think there was a WPT seniors event? I am pretty much an online and home game player, so don't know how to check for local events. Also, I am now apparently old and the internet scares me.

Thanks for the assistance.

Whenever things get back to normal, WSOP Circuits have some senior events. I just looked and the one in AC in January definitely did. Not sure, but the WSOP @ Horseshoe Baltimore also may.

Happy Birthday.

MD Live does a 50+ Seniors event about every other month. Keep an eye on their twitter feed and website for monthly calendars. Good luck.

How is the action and player pool in Maryland Live compared to Borgata?

It's a shame that people are being less vigilant in washing their hands (ive seen people leave the bathroom without washing or doing just a 4 second water rinse). Also more people with uncovered noses.

Just a shame. Can it be publically acceptable to out these people?

Has anyone heard any rumors when the Soorts Book might open? I know there is still some work to be done by the State Gaming Commission, so it won’t be for a few months.

Probably about a year judging by how the process in VA went - and that was generally regarded as having gone very quickly/efficiently. I think in the end it will end up being around 11 months for VA from passage to first bet.

The reason I asked about the Sports Book was because on Monday (the day before the election), Maryland Live posted the following on their Facebook page:

We just announced that construction of our new Sports & Social dining and entertainment venue is now underway with a projected opening in Winter 2021! The space formerly occupied by Live! Center Stage will transform into a one-of-a-kind restaurant, gaming and social lounge for those seeking the ultimate sports fan experience! #LiveAtLIVE #DineAtLIVE

Yeah I am no legal expert so I dont know the exact timeframe. Just that once the bill "passes" there are still a number of other steps. The legislature has to meet and decide exactly *how* sports betting will look in MD. What the rules will be. What the licensing fees will be etc. I think then it goes out for public comment. Then they have an application period and select the licensees.

Just to give some more context around the timing, VIRGINIA just went through the application process where they were expecting to select 4-12 mobile operators. The application period closed Oct 31 and first bets are not expected until just before the Super Bowl.

Now if Maryland decides on brick and mortar operators - it might be less time.

From Hogan's press conference this afternoon

"Effective Friday, November 20th at 5pm, all bars, restaurants, and facilities where food and/or alcohol are served will be required to close by 10pm (already in effect in MoCo)."

Is MD Live a facility as described above?

He would have specifically said casinos, this looks like it's only for bars and restaurants (hopefully).

Hope you are right. I'm hung up on definition of facility. Bowling alley?
