My 2/5 game got down to 3-handed and reduced rake. The floor said we need 4 players to qualify for high-hand/BBJ, but the dealer was still pulling a dollar each hand for promo/BBJ drop. I asked the floor, and he confirmed that they’re supposed to rake for the promos even while the game is ineligible to win them. Just wanted to chime in here to say I think this policy is unfair and a slap in the face to the players. Doesn’t seem right that a game should be expected to pay into promos during a span of time in which it’s ineligible to win them.

Wow, didn't know that. 100% agree. Forcing you to buy a lottery ticket that you aren't eligible to win. Not right.

That would be incorrect and please pm me the floorperson that told you that

Thanks

I believe I have complained loud enough and we should be good now. Not to through anyone under the bus, but some of this was due to the recent nation wide issues comcast had been having.

Thanks

Thanks Mike. Played LiveSize all day yesterday and had zero issues with the internet. Never d/c'd and strong with an absolutely packed room.

Day 2 here we go..

Mike - I saw that soda fountains are being put in, on the main floor between the poker room and the bathrooms. Great addition! One suggestion - the other soda fountains (behind Bobby Flay's burgers) used to not have water available as an option, but now they do. The new soda fountain by the poker room doesn't have a water tab. Maybe they just haven't gotten to it yet during the installation process, but in case they weren't planning on adding one, can you request it is added?

I played each of the last 3 days, and the Internet service in the poker room was the best it has ever been. Please pass on a huge "thanks" to your tech support people.

Pink Chip Wednesdays Limit Holdem

Mike agreed to running a promotional pink chip limit game on Wednesday. Thanks for the help travis! https://twitter.com/OnAFoldDraw/stat...90247813865472

7.5/15 limit holdem with $3 rake and BBJ eligible*

I'm going try to build the game.

If you want to play pink chip tomorrow:
tweet @edwurtle or email: edwurtle@gmail.com

I'll tweet updates to the current interest count, and try to push it.

https://twitter.com/edwurtle/status/1024312818928115712

FYI, I'm Richard M a regular 4-8 player. I'll try to grab interest from 4-8 players, I need someone who knows 20-40 players to catch their attention.

*Please don't cry to hard about BBJ eligible, it's nearly impossible to draw 4-8 players without high hand eligible.

I have 3 now. Let’s just wait until next Wednesday. I’ll gather interest next time I play 4-8.

ML has been incredibly supportive trying to get a limit game going between 4/8 and 20/40. A year or two ago, there was an occasional 10/20 game. A few months ago there was 5/10 with a kill that ran for a while. At this point, I think it will be difficult to get it going - there just aren't enough players. If you schedule it during the week, typically there are 2 or maybe 3 tables of 4/8 where you would get most of your players, many of whom don't want to play any bigger, so there isn't a big enough player pool to draw from. Weekends typically have nice promos where players enjoy 4/8.

Here are what I consider to be necessary conditions for it to go
- You must have at least 5 players who can commit to playing at a specific day/time and be willing to start the game 5 handed. It would also help if you could guarantee that the game will last for a certain time period (e.g. these 5 players will be playing from 6pm until 11pm).
- Not sure if weekdays/weekends are better, but I think a weekly game is asking too much. Perhaps once per month might draw in players as a novelty, like "second Wednesday of the month" or "third Friday of the month".
- You need to advertise it each time it goes. I'm sure ML will announce it in the room, but you need to do something to draw in a few other players who aren't typically in the room. Either post here or use a email mailing list.

I don't know what the magic method is, but whatever the reason it's been nearly impossible to keep this thing going. The problem might be that the typical 4/8 players shy away if the 20/40 players play - they get all grumpy when someone 3-bets pre- and they have 3-6 suited and just want to see a cheap flop for the High hand!

But I like daveopie's ideas, and that someone is making the effort. I will make the effort to show up for a Weds or Thurs game on the regular, and can probably get 1-2 others there as well. Weekends are out for us though (although I agree that's when your player pool is deeper.)

So I think there's a shot this wednesday for pink chip to get it started. Going to start short handed most likely at 6pm. I have a committed 4 and 2 others who won't make it until 7pm. A few more from here maybe: BMoreE? daveopie's? I'm also going to show up early and convince some 4-8 players to join. I think [privacy redaction] are definitely want to play.

Anyone else want to show up this wednesday 6pm?

Yes, I am planning on showing up after work. I have one thing to take care of, but hopefully that goes quickly and I can head to the casino for some pink chip fun.

I'm in, but you already counted me since I'm also on your google group list (one of the 2 others coming after 7.)

Pink chip 7.50/15 LHE ran tonight. The game started right at 7pm and quickly filled up. Unfortunately I couldn't stay too late, but it was a fun game. Thanks for Maryland Live for running it and thanks to Richard for organizing it.

I've tried searching, can only find this thread, and didn't try reading through it all, so I'm bumping:

Is there a poker room rate for the hotel?

Does anyone have details? I'll be playing Tuesday and looking to crash, but would prefer not to spend the website/retail amount...

Bravo shows a 5/10 mixed game. Anyone know what games are in the mix? Is it a timed or raked game?

Got an offer for 1 free night at the Loft.
Just wanted to try it to see how's it like.
But when I called, none available for comp for the rest of the month

How did you get an offer? Mail or email? I've looked online and I don't think they have room offers based on the play on your card? Or maybe they do and I just don't get any, which is a possibility. I also just wanted to see what's it's like at Live. But too expensive.
