Can anyone give me info on this tournament that went for the first time 2 weeks ago?

I'm interested in knowing what time the money was reached and what time did it end. Also, was there a chop?

Thanks!
Bubble burst between 8:00 and 9:00PM IIRC (after the dinner break). I believe 23/182 were paid.

Assuming there was a chop, the tournament finished around 2:15AM. Source: Finished 4th, and the final three seemed ready to discuss a chop at that point.

Hope that helps.

Thanks. I'll settle for a heads-up chop if I make it up there this weekend

What is the official rule at MDL about showing your cards Heads Up when action is pending?

Not having to hand shuffle probably saves 10 seconds per hand. If you get 30 hands per hour (to keep the math simple), that 300 seconds you'd be saving each hour, or 5 minutes per hour wasted shuffling. In a full day (24 hours), that 120 minutes wasted shuffling (assuming the table is in use the entire time). That means with a Shufflemaster you could get an extra 60 hands per day from a table, and at $5 per hand rake going to the house, that's an extra $300 per day made by the house when using a Shufflemaster.

My numbers may be way off - I used a lot of estimates and guessing, but my points is that depending on the Shufflemaster rental rate, at some point it becomes a business decision to use them or not.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Deck_Mate
lol...what about all the shufflers sitting in empty tables most nights. Still paying rent...generating no revenue.

I think using shufflers comes down to perceived integrity of the game and reducing long-term arthritis in dealers' hands more than anything else. Haha Personally I think I would prefer a clean table with hand shuffling and a good dealer...something pure about the game.

It is allowed, I believe.

I just started playing here on weekends after moving away to Vegas for 4 years. My only question is why are people so angry here?

Super dumb queation but is the Live! 500 just a $500 buy in and that’s it? No rebuys, no extra $200 for the bounty? Just double checking.

Correct. there is however an optional $20 Dealer add on, but the bounty comes from the $500

Thanks

I'm pretty sure the Live 500 allows re-entry. All the other Live! tournaments do.

I am almost certain re-entry is allowed unless something has changed. I recall firing two bullets in the October edition

Edit: Per the flyer, you can late reg/re-enter through the first 8 levels.

Mike can you comment?

Mike,

If there is enough interest and dealers would the room consider a few single table super turbo satellites for an entry to the $500 w/ $200 bounty tournament? $75ish (20room, 5dealers). Maybe 3k in chips blinds increase every 10 mins?

There's a $45 Turbo tomorrow morning. Isn't that better? We can easily run single tables if there's interest. See the shift manager

Thanks

Mike

The ones on Ebay don't have serial numbers.

When I went to print out a voucher for Zinburger today, I noticed that only Zinburger and The Cheese Factory were available. What happened to Bobby's Burger? Did they opt out of the voucher program? Or are they now accepting the Maryland Live card?

Do they give reduced room rates for a certain number of hours played?

The on-site hotel isn't finished/open yet.

Not sure about the Live Lofts. My guess is no, as I've not heard of it, but since 99% of the players are locals, I could be wrong.

RE Live Lofts:

You can always ask a floor if they can get you any kind of a discount. I don't know for a fact if it's possible or not but I've heard other players talk about it as a possibility.

This is true based on availability we do get a pretty good rate.

Thanks

Mike
