Have you ever been to the room before? The 1/2 game plays like a 2/5 game on most nights because of the deeper structure. Yes there aren't as many games during the week but Nick is doing his best to get players in and staying. I'd never play a 1/2 game at the Shoe over Majestic the action is solid.

If you are a winning poker player at The Majestic Star, that is not something that will be smiled upon by the room and management.

Yes, the action is or was great. Months ago, this room was starting to grow and had promise. However, table volumes appear to be declining.

The Majestic Star offers a Self Ban from the property. If considering, you should do this with the casino and NOT the gaming board. If you ban yourself from this casino only, you can apply to come back after one year.

It is midnight on Wednesday night. According to Poker Atlas, there is only one table running total. I guess the end is near for this poker room. Hasta La Vista!

Joint must be raiding the bad beat account for "administrative fees, etc", because it increases at a SNAIL'S pace. It should be way larger than it is.

I was up at the Majestic Star last night, and this was from a security guard roaming the 3rd floor so take it what it's worth. He told me they probably aren't reopening the poker room until they open up their new building sometime next year. Here's to hoping Horseshoe or Blue Chip open sometime soon

TY. The structure itself is up (walls, roof) for the new Gary, Indiana Hard Rock casino.

Will Nick be running the poker room at Hard Rock? I have a feeling that Hard Rock will be the place to play next year. Horseshoe room may be history. Just a feeling. I obviously could be wrong.

Under Indiana statute casino employees are more or less "protected" (my way of writing it) when casino licenses change ownership.

Hi All,

This is Nick from Majestic. I’m not terribly good following these boards so sorry if my absence was a pain for any of you. For future reference, private message me if you would like an answer right away. Those are connected to my personal email so I will at least see the message and will respond. You can always connect to me through the FB page for the room. If you submit a message there you will get an auto reply right away but I will see it and respond.

Poker is not returning to Majestic prior to the opening of Hard Rock. With COVID initially, our casino (nor any others) was not given permission to reopen poker. Even with the modified restrictions that came out in October, we were only allowed to reopen with 5 players per table. Hence the decision to keep the room closed.

As far as the bad beat is concerned, we did have a significant drop off in play toward the end of last year. The events I had planned for the spring and summer (MSPT April, Shenanigans weekend and MSPT August) all were postponed then cancelled by COVID. What I can assure you is that the funds from the bad beat jackpots, the player fund and the tourney Freeroll are all intact and held in escrow by the casino for the benefit of poker players. At some point soon there will probably be a promotion to return those funds to the players. It is a matter of state approval which we just have to wait for.

I’m hopeful we will see COVID concerns diminish soon. I’m hopeful that allows casino poker to return in a form that makes most people happy. There’s a lot of good poker people out of work and hurting right now. If you are in a position to help those folks, please consider doing so.

Sincerely,

Nick
