That gas station nearest to the joint was charging TWENTY FIVE CENTS more for gas yesterday (than other stations in the area).

Been solved. Victim (deceased) ex-tenant in custody, turned in by his suburban Illinois ex-wife. Wasn't mentioned because the body was left in lot. There was no "shooting" on the premise.

You would not have THE VERY FIRST REASON to "visit". The casino is only technically in Gary. You never know you are in Gary, because the place is in Buffington Harbor on Lake Michigan. You must be posting from South Carolina.

Maybe it was a test (by the Star) to see if anyone is paying attention or watches that show.

Anyone know the rates for a room? The wife and I are picking someone up wed morning from midway incoming from Mexico. Is the tournament worthy on Tue. evening? Is horseshoe a better option? Maybe Hollywood or Grand Victoria?

Is the rumor true that they moved the poker room down to the first floor?

$60 buy-in tournament yesterday Sunday 1st paid $1000 and was over by the time the Yankess at Boston game ended. Bad beat is up to $115K. Requirements LESS severe than the "other" place. Tournaments 7:00 pm Tues. through Fri. Others on Sat and Sun. Tournament info on Majestic Star website appears accurate.

Nope. Purely subjective. A bunch of tables is just that. It doesn't mean it is a better poker operation. Nothing outstanding about overall operation of Horseshoe. They have a lot of tables and a high limit area which is empty most of the time.

Cash game situation during this HPT debacle?

You got to travel? I would avoid this place during HPT time. Almost all tables are used for tournament.

Not much of a drive for me from the city (obviously it is a drive, but I was thinking of playing some tourney events anyways).

Was moreso curious about what might happen if I bust, seeing if there are any side games I could play

1st event was a nightmare as far as organization goes, but the structure was absolutely amazing for that buy in. Played very very deep. Love the structure.

Noticed the bad beat hasn't been hit lately. The 50-25-25 split is absurd given the small number of people who keep that room going. The joint should spread that money around a bit more. They would be rewarding the few people who populate those two or three cash tables, which is the most they have "up" most of the time. They should pay ALL sitting players in that joint. 40-20-20-20 would be correct for that room.

Can you imagine how long that would take!? They do not own a computer or a calculator and would have to do all of that work with paper and pencil! Then players would have to wait in line at the cage only to get to the front to be told that the bad beat was cancelled. - oh wait sorry, I am having flashbacks of their HPT event

What's it look like at this place these days? I haven't been in a while and the Shoe's 40+ person wait is unappealing to say the least.

Same players? Just 1/2? Looks like the o/8 game totally migrated to the shoe?

It's a Saturday and I'm bored, and of course no bravo for the majestic

Sorry for the noob question. I have never played in a tourney with two flights. I am contemplating playing the 300+30 deep stack event on 11/29 if I can somehow be guaranteed to be in the late flight. Family commitments prevent me from playing the 10 AM flight.

Is there a way to sign up for the pm flight? Thanks all.

You can pre register in the poker room at any time before the 29th for any event. On the 29th registration will then be on the 3rd level with probably a long line. So I highly recommend registering early for either flight on the 29th.

There is also the HPT Majestic tournament thread here: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/65...-08-a-1386073/
