I'm quite curious myself but got too much work atm to go Macau n check out. As per usual structure should be something like 2k-10k, rake capped at 200.

Hi everybody

Reading the forum my guess is there no Fixed Limit Holdem or any other fixed limit games.
Does anybody know of legal status of FL Holdem or any other FL games in Macau and/or whether its being reviewed by Macau government ???

I don't know about the legal status, but I don't think there is much, or any, interest in limit in Macau. Just like other places in Asia, Europe etc. limit is basically dead. I never heard an Asian mention he wants to play limit

yes because is not allowed and a lot of them did not try it.
but if you come to California cardrooms you can see more Chinese and other Asians play Fixed Limit than NL.
So given the chance they would play it in masses.

I never played limit in Cali cardrooms but I know these, so my guess is, these are overwelmingly American Chinese not (real) Asians. Americans have a different socialization with poker, many of them grew up playing forms of poker like limit. Asians living in Asia don`t have anything like that, they got into poker with the Moneymaker boom or later, they want to play NL, maybe PLO, short deck...

the 25/50 game was well and truly alive last weekend. Super long wait list at 10pm (15+). they also had two tables of 50/100 at the sands with a super short wait list and the game was very good (as was 25/50).

Can't remember rake exactly but I think it was 5% capped at 250 for 25/50 and 5% capped at 500 for 50/100. Probably the smallest poker area in Macau (compared to Wynn and Venetian) but the actual casino floor at the sands is pretty nice in my opinion. Sucks that its in a crappy part of Macau and there isn't much cool **** around it. Still think the Wynn is the place to play.

Still 50/100 running frequently (especially at the venetian and wynn). Normally only 1-2 tables of it at the sands on weekends and maybe 1 during the week and 1 25/50

100/200 still pretty frequent too at venetian and wynn. if you go sands with 5 or so people they'll normally open up a 100/200 game if its not running at the time (they have done it for me and my friends twice in the last 2 months)

Only 25/50 is in Sands now. Not Wynn or Venetian.

what about waiting list for weekdays mon-fri
compare to weekends? is there any games during daytime on weekends? Does Wynn take callins ahead for the poker? will be there in end Aug

I've not been around in some time but unless things have dried up completely there will be daytime games. Although August is pretty much peak low season, so factor that in

depends what game - 50/100 at the wynn runs through weekdays and the waiting list could be 20min-2 hours based

I think you need to open an account at the cashier and then you can deposit your money after sessions. That was the case years ago at the wynn at least, not sure about venetian. Let us know if it worked out

@macau2018

how have games been over the past year? much the same? has any room successfully launched lower stakes games. US $1/$2 still 75% of market share here in US. I assume nothing close to that has started up there?

Has bridge from HK made any difference to games?

Which venues have poker? I thought it was only Wynn and Venetian, but apparently Sands as well. Any where else?

Going in two days, was planning to just play at Venetian, but would like to check out other rooms as well.

I’m going to be in Macau for the first time next week for about five days. Would like to get a couple buyins for 50/1(30-50k-ish). Have mainland China bank card. Can access RMB cash beforehand and have 3600usd on me. Can anyone recommend what the best approach might be? Willing to pay small vig.
