planning to visit LA soon. Sorry if it has already been answered -- Does the Hustler Casino have small stakes games going at pretty much all times? (1/2 + 2/5 + 5/10 NL)?

There's a great website called pokeratlas that will show you exactly how many tables and how many players on the waiting list for most live casinos including the Hustler.

https://www.pokeratlas.com/poker-roo...ena/cash-games

If you want to play 5/10 your best bet is the Commerce. Won't usually find 5/10 during the week anywhere else. The other casinos have deeper buy-in games for the smaller stakes. And 1/2 is generally a short stack shove fest game. 2/3 however at the Bike and Hustler and other casinos has a $300 max buy-in.

By "most" do you mean only Hustler and The Bike?

I called into the gardens to ask about the games and the guy said they had their own app? Also how are the games there? Mainly asking about the 2-3 blinds.

Yes they have their own app and its pretty good

Games are decent to good depending on the regular variables. Food is great.

2/3 is low cap rake rape. You're probably better off min buying into the 5/5 game and trying to double up and play deeper on someone elses cash

By games are good to great, I'm assuming that you meant 'For L.A.' I was playing at the gardens last night and was left thinking about how people often comment about LA players and the games here....I'm curious being that as I'm from here and I really don't anything to compare to, thoughts or stories others have about LA poker.

Yeah it's $3/5 buy-in $200, if you bust you can rebuy up to $300. They also have a $5/5 game $300-$500 buy-in.

According to my understanding LA games are some of the best action around. Better than Vegas, better than the rest of the world. I think Pittsburgh might be the only place that's supposedly softer.

2/3 game is good to great at gardens. $100-$200 buy-in. There's always at least 10 tables going from noon to midnight and on busy nights/weekends you'll get 20+. You never have to wait long and with that many tables you can always move if you don't love the game you're in.

LA poker is light years ahead of anywhere else in action and fun players. Almost Everywhere else is a major grind. I’ve played winning poker for almost 20 years. I’d prob get squashed anywhere else lol

Cool. Now I don't have to have them mail me a check for my player's bank balance. I recently got a letter that my account had been idle 3 years and they would be surrendering it to the State Controller's Office if I didn't claim it.

Texas would like a word with you but yeah, the games in LA are great. Was that other guy being serious suggesting they are tougher than most locations?

Hey,
I've never played live poker in LA. I only lived out here a bit before Covid happened.
I thumbed through this thread and tried to put the pieces together, but I'm still not 100% sure on LA rules.

What's up with the weird buy ins? Are they capped under 100bb?
What's this like $10 drop? Or is it just a high rake in general for all games?
Which room has less nitty regs between Bike and Commerce?
Any other obvious things that differentiate from Vegas?

The buy-ins depend on the stake. Commerce has better action and more tables than the Bike, but the Bike has deeper buy-ins. Commerce has $300-$500 buy-in $5-$5 game, $500-$1500 buy-in $5-$10, and no cap 10/20. The smaller games are all short. Bike is $300-$1000 $5/$5 games, $1000-$3000 $5/$10 games and they have a $100-$300 $1/$3 game i think.

If you're playing 5/5 or 5/10 go to Commerce, the 5/10 doesnt always run at the Bike and they have a lot less 5/5 tables, if you want to play 100bb 1/3 go to the Bike. If you don't like one they are like 10mins from each other. Check out all the casinos eventually though.
