I'm heading out to LA the first week of October for the first time in a couple years after living in Hancock park for about 6 months. I used to play about once or twice a week at the hustler, and was wondering if there are any 2+2er's that frequent the room, and also wanted to see how the action has been lately. The night manager Paul was always a great guy to me, looking forward to hitting up the upstairs bar as well!

Suggestions:

1. You could look for previous answers, this question has been asked and discussed more than once

2. You could define what "best" means to you. Price? Quality? Distance? What do you consider barometers for each? "Best" is way too vague. Also, people (especially in LA) have very differing ideas of what constitutes too far of a drive.

I'd like to expand on chrusher97's question if I could. Are there any towns within 20 minutes of the Commerce that are nice and ideal for families and raising kids? 30 minutes away maybe? Good schools, safe, etc., even if expensive.

A large number of cities in the San Gabriel Valley fit your criteria, as well as South Pasadena, Cerritos, and others. 30 minutes can be broadly defined in LA.

Thoughts on Lyz Flynn Fall Poker classic at hustler casino??
I plan on playing the add on event they have coming up on the first. $150 +$100 for $250k gtd. It has an interesting structure where they roll back the blinds to an earlier level at the start of day 2. Assuming day 1 plays til the end, blinds would be 10-20-3k. Day 2 would start at 3-6-1k. How would this affect your shoving ranges with a short stack. Suppose you have 10 bb toward the end of day 1, are you still shoving A3 on the button?

RIP 10/20 at Commerce. All the ****ing trip reports and brags about super soft high stakes action were real smart. I hear Maryland live is the nuts.

I am going to be in town this coming week. Was wondering:

1. What are current options for LHE 20-40 or higher outside Commerce? Is the Hustler 25-50 still regular? Does the Bike 20-40 still go?

2. Can someone give an update on the 20-40 OE? A few months ago someone posted ITT that it goes regularly at HP but no longer goes at Bike. Is this still applicable?

Thanks.

Pretty sure 20/40 LHE still goes every day at Bicycle and Hawaiian Gardens. Can't help you on other issues.

The last I heard, the EO at bike went from 9/18 to 12/24 on weekdays and still 20/40 on weekends.

Hustler 25/50 is still regular.

Thanks for the information. I got back yesterday. The Bike EO game was indeed a 12-24 limit and they also had the 20-40 LHE going.

I did not check out Hollywood Park, but apparently the 20-40 does go there regularly, as well as a 40-80 straight O8 game.

12/24. 3$ ante? $4 ante?
This smells like players pump it up

$3 ante in the 12-24 game

That is weird, same ante as in the 20/40 game?

Do they use $3 chips? I guess would make a bit more sense then.

Yeah $3 chips. I think anything lower would make the game super nitty considering what they take out for the drop.

I'm basically living in the Commerce Casino now. Even with the players rate, the room per night is like $150. Looking for someone to share the double bed rooms to split the costs. Please PM for details.

I don't have a car so I'm spending like 40 dollars a day in taxi fare anyways. Easier for me to just stay in the hotel. Plus I'm only here for a few months, don't want to sign a year lease.

Commerce is the only place with 5/10 everyday. Bike and Hustler get it going occasionally.

I live close to HP and Hustlers and plan to start playing 5/5 live. I played 1/3 at the Wynn when I lived in Vegas and won consistently.

Would you guys say Hollywood Park has the softest 5/5? Then Hustler? How do the Bike and Commerce compare??

For 5/5 what would you order the above 4, from most soft to toughest?
