For central London you aren't going to get much cheaper than this unless a hotel has a special offer going on.

What time should I expect the 1/2 and/or 1/3 games to get going at the Vic? Have a few spare hours this afternoon, from around 4-7, anything likely to be running at that time?

Normally I'd expect at least one 1/2 table to be running by 4. The chance of a 1/3 are slim as most people now seem to prefer the 2/5 instead. You could also just call the card room on 0207 262 7777 and find out what's running.

I had no problems with the Empire including getting a players rewards card, but when I went to the Vic they said did you used to live at my previous address. They would not let me in that visit but told me to write to there head of security to get my ban lifted. I did and have now received a letter saying I can play there again.

What's the minimum buy-in for the lowest limit cash games (1/1?)? Ask not for me but for friends. Was gonna probably go along to one but they're not gonna be especially comfortable buying in for £100 (since our home cash games are generally 5p/10p).

Someone mentioned £25 in reply to an earlier question, is this standard or at a particular casino?

How busy are the tables on a Sunday night? (this coming Sunday) Is there a good chance of most of us getting a seat eventually (4-5 of us) or is it gonna be impossible?

This post suggests there me be a 0.50/1 game running at the Empire, can anyone confirm this?

The £1 £1 game at the Vic is £40

I think they have a £1 £1 game at the G Casino which is near the Empire which may have a smaller buy in.

Do any PL/NL O8 or stud/razz games ever get started in any the London casino's these days? And if so anything < £500 BI?

Also, seemingly as I can no longer edit, this is a more general question, but is having a group of friends sitting nearby (if, as I'm assuming, not all would want to play at these stakes) normal or pretty weird?

Bunch of people watching 1 guy playing small stakes is weird and they would soon get bored

I won the £25 freezeout at the International on Tuesday afternoon. Only 31 runners. First was meant to be £310 but we chopped a bit off first and second to give the bubble boy some. Walked away from that with £280. I then proceed to drop £500 playing £1/£1. I have never ever ever ever run so bad.

I went to the Vic for the first time yesterday to play £1 £2. Got there in the afternoon and it took over 2 hours to get a game on a dealer dealt table. It turns out the free sandwiches is a thing of the past. The only thing you get free in the poker room now is water. At least they have a free car park. When I did get to play the game was a soft as the games in the Empire but I only played on one table so it’s a small sample size.

That is all.

Edit: If you're looking to impress a lady or you're sightseeing, take your guests to the London Bridge restaurant. Book a seat upstairs by the window. Incredible view of Tower Bridge (YES AMERICANS, THIS IS TOWER BRIDGE NOT LONDON BRIDGE lol). Incredible ambience.

Also if you're with a mate and u were gonna eat similar large steaks, ask them to cook you an off-menu 1kg steak. Awesome!

The Vic website says they spread pretty high PLO games. What is the highest PLO game I can expect to find there on a typical weekday/weekend? I assume that is the best room for PLO 5/10 and up?

Rent - really depends on where you want to live...if you are happy to be 30 mins away from the centre on tube, then you can get an ok one bed place from £1k per month upwards. If you want to live centrally and be within walking distance of the main tourist attractions and main casinos then you are looking at more like £2k per month for something decent.

I wouldn't live in panpeninsula, it's too far away, a real hassle to get into central London, plus the main tube line from there (jubilee) is always shut down (like every weekend) with enginerring work.

Pokers not a common profession but it's not like it is illegal or anything, so yeah you can declare that as your source of funds when opening a bank account etc...if you declare poker as your source of funds when renting accomodation, don't be surprised if you get asked for a large downpayment on the rent.

What is the better way in terms of where to live? It really depends on your budget and the lifestyle you want, if money is no issue then I would recommend going central/West Central...Primrose Hill/Notting Hill/Kensington are all nice areas. If you are bothererd about getting value for money then you get far better value if you are willing to live a 20/30 min tube ride away. Just don't go anywhere near Canary Wharf, you will regret it.

Think most days 5/10 is about as good as it gets on a weekday/average day

According to an advertisement in Bluff Europe the Golden Nugget has cash games with 5% rake capped at £5, Minimum £1 £1 from 2pm to 4Am. Has anyone played here and they likely to have £1 £2?

We live all over.

There are a few places that fit your description. Islington, notting hill, primrose hill, to name but a few.
