10,000 chips on a 25 minute clock is just about good enough for it not to be a crap shoot although I would have preferred it to have been a Double Chance like the GUKPT PLOs are.

Sometimes at The Vic the blinds start at 25/25 in PLO comps so it will be that or it will be 25/50.

If you live in Wimbledon then this place in Morden is probably closest to you, although I've never played there so don't know what it's like.

hey guys, i have some questions about the vics...
apparently they have a freeroll for regs... does anyone here know how it works, how you qualify and when that usually is?

and another thing kinda related to the vics, their mixed games include a stud variation superstud... what are the rules of that game, couldnt find anything specific on their page.
i heard something about getting more cards at the beginning, and then having to discard some and after that playing h/l stud? how many cards? and 5 or 7card, and h/l oder 8 or better?

cheers

superstud is 5 (or the option of 6 in some places) cards dealt, you discard two and choose your upcard, and from then on it's pot-limit stud hi-lo.

The vic freeroll is the most ridiculous thing ever. As most people know the vic has a large contingent of retired players who are quite nitty and go there to meet their friends and pass the time. These players would go there regardless of if there was a freeroll or not and most of them play for about 3 or 4 hours a day.

The freeroll is not done on number of hours but you are awarded a certain number of points for every day. This means that even if you play only a few long sessions you are penalised and have not much hope of qualifying ahead of the old men brigade.

Cheers AshleyC I work in Fulham Broadway too so don't mind travelling at all. Do you know of any good tournaments around then without membership fee's?

True that. They're not all that nitty, but they are bad. It's amusing to see the staff fawning around Big P and co making sure they look after them. Lovely chaps though.

Yes it is billed as a special Dealer's Choice cash game night tonight starting at 6 p.m.

Two weeks ago the game started bang on time and last week at about 7.30 p.m. I think if you arrive at about 7.30 p.m. that the game will have recently started or be about to start.

That's the kind of time I am arriving and I would expect 4 or 5 others to do the same and then there to be a regular influx of players to the game throughout the evening and then into the small hours

Hope you have a good session and that we both win tonight.

DC game now running and is currently 7 handed.

Just got back from the DC game. It was quite wild and got deep stacked quickly. (A few stacks of £700 to £1200 within 2 hours, and this was with initial buy ins being no bigger than £300 from any one player)

This stacks getting deep was caused by a combination of players playing badly or too impatiently, some high variance pots, and then some tilting.

I asked players unknown to me who entered the game if they were "Snitchbomb" from 2plus2. No-one answered yes.

Were you there Snitchbomb anonymously or are you just leaving it until another time?

I played there twice last year and it was awful. I recommend playing anywhere else.

Sorry but I have no idea of where things are in London. If you aren't driving you could just hop on the underground line that goes from Wimbledon to Edgware Road and play at The Vic. No membership fees there.

Best games to find value in for the games you mentioned are IMO:

1/1 NLHE The International
1/2 NLHE The Empire
2/5 NLHE The Vic
1/2, 1/3 and 2/5 PLO The Vic
1/2 DC The International

I have never played cash in the Fox so can't comment on that but the tournaments there are definitely soft and the location and room itself are both very nice.

Sorry dude, didn't make it down. Got stuck at the Empire, well not 'stuck' but action was too good to leave and didn't want to make the trip across town. Next week for sure. Looking forward to superstud the most.
