Just moved here from New Zealand.

Living in Chiswick with a couple of friends. Going to hit up The Empire when my bank account gets sorted.

How stupid it is that they send out your debit card and then your pin number? Just walk round the neighborhood and get yourself a new bank account

please don't get me started on the stupidity of the entire uk banking system

having said that, try to open up a bank account in france and see what happens.

Definitely up for 2+2 drinks. A 2+2 codeword would be nice. Too often I flag someone up as "probably a 2+2er" because they did something right, only to have my read dashed when they turn out to be a total mong.

Or I guess I could just work on my reading ability.

Hey bro,
Fellow kiwi here- 5 year expat. Banks are backward vs back home, all the best for sorting out an account. Let us know when you do and hit me up for a drink or two and a session down at the empire.

Where in nz are you from? Did you play much live over there? I'm heading back on septemeber and am interested in what the scene is like there.

Make some sort of reference to the brown trout sleeping in the closet.

However, very few people will know/remember this.

I think it was originally suggested by Joe Tall here:

http://archives2.twoplustwo.com/show...rue#Post344512

It might have been an in-joke amongst his friends prior to this.

Good research here too: http://forumserver.twoplustwo.com/sh...6&postcount=14

I remember but think it's really stupid. You sound like some masonic guild and basically alienate everyone at the table. It needs to be something that doesn't alienate. Good example might be 'tree-fiddy'

Sup bro was the traditional one that I remember. Not sure it matters anymore as half the people on 2 + 2 suck at poker too now.

Hey,

Come from Auckland.

Scene isn't too bad. Skycity casino is the only place (I know of) in Auckland where the games run. Mainly NL 1/2. Need to get the regulars on board to start a higher stake game.

It's full of regulars, I'd say 5:1 when it comes to regulars vs. walk ins. The APPT is held in September and the games pick up nicely then. Heaps of sats etc. Simon Watt is a regular there, won the APPT a couple of years back and has a WSOP braclet.

You said across the table "are you on 2p2?"

haha

pros: no confusion possible, shows we don't need to hide it
cons: no confusion possible, alerts everyone who's aware of 2p2 that i/we might be aware of basic strategy

"might be" is right - but certainly no guarantee. Have you seen the "poker is rigged" thread lately? Or for that matter half the posts in Poker Theory...

Ah nice one, I'm from Auckland too. Finished at Auckland grammar in '01.
Will have to check out skycity- heard the rake was a bit of a killer. Pity that it's mostly regs, might have to try to find some home games.

Could not believe what I witnessed at the Fox Club last night. We got a little omaha game running and one of the guys that was playing called Gary asked the cardroom manager to get someone to take a food order for him as he said he was diabetic. He was told that the kitchen was closed and there was only a very limited menu, Gary then asked if he could go to a takeaway and bring some food in and explained the situation to the Manager (a young black guy) who refused as it would cost the club revenue, Gary said he would pay for the cheapest item on the menu and then order a takeout but the guy refused. Gary explained that he felt he was being discriminated against and the manager told him to leave the club on the basis that Gary was been rude to him. So in effect if you are diabetic and the kitchen at the fox club is closed, you will not be able to bring in food from outside. THIS IS A TOTAL DISGRACE. I spoke to gary about this as I am a lawyer and offered my help but much to my surprise also is a lawyer and he has said he is not letting this go.

Taking of Poker, I went into the empire this morning on the early shift, 06:00 - 08:00 and saw Khoa try to three barrel bluff this guy who had A 10 on an A 10 9 flop, Khoa stuck in over £350 of his £600 stack and the guy told him that I dont like to be bullied by the value at the table. Khao then blew the remaining chips in his stack and had to get the guy sitting to his left to lend him £100. Maybe we should do a tally to see how much Khao owes to everyone, I will take the over at 5k.

"I Stakes" poker is tonight at The International
http://www.gutshot.com/forum/showthr...rsday-7th-July

This is a pretty decent sized NLHE cash game that is also live streamed (10 minute delay) on the Gutshot webcast. £2/£5 (optional £10 straddle) game, min sit down £1K. Some crazy play in it last month.

Should be a good PLO or DC game there too which this week has been playing quite deep for a £1/£2 game and in which there has been some really poor play going on from players either on tilt or who are not quite with the correct strategy, so it's good value at the moment. PLO or DC min sit down £50, no max.
