If you have a $ and £ account you can use transferwise or midpoint.
If looking for cash transaction the ol post office or there was a currency exchange with v competitive rates near Liverpool street in the gallery.
Stay away from west end currency exchanges.

Asper's a pretty convenient drive for me straight up the A2 and through tunnel.
However, last time I tried it and finished playing cash I almost got locked out of the car park going down the lifts near the casino, because they close between 1 and 5 or something?? I thought carpark B was 24 hour access? Anyone who plays there often that knows the rules on this? The website is clear as mud.

All of the car parks have 24/7 exit access, a couple of them are closed for entry between 3am and 5am. Not sure why you had trouble getting out.

The Vic has 1/1, probably your best bet

Aspers 1/1 is max 150.
Empire has 1/1 too. As central as it gets.

I think the situation is that Empire nominally has 1/1 but it never runs as 1/2 is much more popular, though it's possible that has changed (doesn't look like it from twitter). The Grosvenor Leicester Square might be the only casino there that has 1/1 regularly but it's a pretty cramped 1 or 2 tables on the edge of the pits, so I can't necessarily recommend it.

Last time I was in London I saw the "Where is the ball"-game being played down close to Docklands.

Googled and found this link from 2011:

https://antalainen.wordpress.com/201...ets-of-london/

I was sooooo close to taking a shot, as I watched 4-5 rounds and knew where the ball was every single time. But being involved in poker/gambling for 15 years I know when something seems to good to be true, it probably is

Is this still a well known scam around London?

Looking to play 2/5 - from Twitter it seems Empire/hippo/Vic all have 1-2 tables running 2/5 occasionally. Which room runs it more often and how are the games? How tougher are they compared to 1/2? I assume weekend and evenings should be more likely to see such games running? Also Vic seems to run 1/3 too, how’s that?

Thanks a lot in advance!

This week London has the Cash Game Festival in Aspers, so there you might see the best 2/5 games in town.

I'm playing much more recreationally these days but The Vic runs 2/5 much more regularly than The Hippo or The Empire. You're much more likely to see a 2/5 game at The Hippo and Empire on Friday/Saturday night but not always. There will almost definitely be one or two 2/5s at The Vic during those times. When I used to play 2/5 I generally found the games to be hardly much different to the 1/2 games as far as skill level. I just steered clear of the reg-infested ones.

1/3 is a max buy-in of £1000 and usually features stronger players and regs (well it did when I played it a few years back but I think it's the same today).

Thanks! Why is 1/3 attracting more stronger players?

I’ve watched on twitch the live £5/5 game in Aspers last week and they did appear similar to 1/2 games in terms of common mistakes people make. I do spot 1 good reg whom I played with in Aspers 1/2 and he was doing well in that 5/5 table too.

I did have a "Andrew Neeme" style vlog, put up about 10 episodes, but The Vic has a pretty strict policy on filming, so I made them private, they were pretty low quality anyway.

However I have recently starting doing a "live" blog, nothing too exciting as I grind £1-£1 and micro stakes online, but I have always enjoyed any content on the live poker scene, and maybe some of you may enjoy reading about the mundane action as it unfolds from The Vic.

I am a long time lurker on here, thought I would share something!

Anyone who starts vlogging the London cash scene will be trolled to high ****ing heaven. Like Futtock has said, the scene is too small, and also filled with nasty sarcastic bastards, like myself.

Anyway, my reason for posting...

I'm in Vegas for most of October. If anyone would like to rent the bedroom of my timeshare whilst I'm out there (I will be crashing on the sofabed) PM me. It's as central as can be (attached to the Cosmo).

Also, any interest for 4/8 Limit HORSE+TD again let me know. The last game only one of you bastards turned up (good job Mike ) and we were still basically full for 8 hours. We can get 5% £5 cap at the Horseshoe, and probably some disgusting frozen chicken wings thrown in for free as well. One dealer there knows his ****. He will be dealing. I was thinking mid-week mid-September

just curious but why would they be trolled for vlogging London poker..

The Vic, Hippodrome, Empire, Aspers, Palm Beach(if anyone plays that big) and any other rooms.

From outsiders perspective, it can be interesting to learn how rooms are set up and look like/feel when you are not a regular. I mean like B roll footage of rooms and what not. Like how to get to the poker rooms. where to sign up, buy-in amounts.

You dont need to film hands or other players. Player vlogging can pick a few hands they found interesting or noteworthy. It's what most poker vlogs are anyways.

Definitely up for the mixed game again mate, enjoyed it last time. What stakes did we play? 3/6? They definitely need to be higher as it was probably the equivalent of a .25/.50p NL. Maybe 5/10 or 6/12 if people are willing.
