It's been covered in this thread before but I'll do a summation:

Max Buy-in is typically 200 Big Blinds or The Empire allows up to 50% of the big stack. Games of 5/10 or higher are uncapped.

Everywhere
1/1 and 1/2

The Empire
2/5 is very rare.

The Vic
1/3 is always available - At least 2 tables when busy / weekends.
2/5 is always available - At least 2 tables when busy / weekends.
5/10 - "frequent". Last weekend no games ran but for the two weeks before that it ran almost every day.

Palm Beach
2/5 | 5/10 | 10/20 - A game runs most nights but the stakes depend on which players turn up.

The regular "big game" of 10/25 | 25/50 and higher moves around (The Vic, Palm Beach, elsewhere). Last I heard it was being played at The Barracuda

yeah u have to wear suits and there are some casinos where 5/10 is the only limit available but u can't table select at all and the rake is also pretts big in a few casinos

btw many casinos in germany offer 2/4 games but that is as low as it gets

I'm looking to come down to London for a week or so to stay with a uni mate, while down i wanna do a ton of grinding.

What would be the best times & casino's to go to during the week/weekend? Last time i went to the Grosvenor around 12am on a friday and that worked out a treat for me, im sure weekends should be easy money regardless of where i go but are there any that are more fishy during the week?

Seriously, the empire is always good value, if you play during the day the rake is capped at £5, you will be seriously +ev in that game, dont expect most of the players to fold too much and dont get caught into the trap of raising to like £12 pre just b/c they are all doing it and don't straddle. Just listen to basic conversation with dealers + other players to work out who the tourists + regs are. Most of the regs are terrible but winning players b/c they can beat fish

Came across this place the other week, 1/2 to 5/10 games and a £25k gtd £150 f/o at the end of this week, heard they had 200+ on the opening night for a £15k gtd.

Can't find much more info other than their website http://www.debdenpoker.co.uk/

Anyone else been?

I've not had a chance to visit yet but what do the other London regs think of the Fox Club so far? How do the games and room compare to the Empire or Vic?

I've heard mixed reports from people who have been so I'd be interested in other opinions.

I played their £25k Gtd opening event & played their £100 + £25 Bounty tourny on Saturday on several occasions. Their tournys seem well run with a decent structure & the staff are friendly.
They are just starting out, but I think they have a good future.
Their card room comfortably seats 200 & it's a nice looking cardroom.
I am def playing the £25k Gtd this Friday. I think some rumours have been circulated re this cardroom, but they are quite clearly fictional.

Anyone playing this Main Event at the fox poker club?
£300+ 30 - estimated prize fund £50,000 - a few 'big names' apparantly coming out for this one.

Going down to London this week one weekday early afternoon around 2pm - is there any cash game action at this time at Empire / International / Fox? Haven't been to International or Fox before. Or would I be better entering a tourney?

+ how soft are the games or it is just regs in the weekday afternoons?

Some of you guys should share a car and get up to Dusk Till Dawn in Nottingham (approx 100 miles), play the weekend games, good tourneys and very good cash games

Usually a game running at the Empire all the time but mostly regs early on, Fox probably cash games start around 3pm when people start busting out the 2pm tourney. I only play 1/2 but I find the games real soft.

Don't think it'll make any difference. I prefer the Vic as the beer is £3 instead of £4.20.

Empire has better dealers and more fish, Vic is run much better and a generally better cardroom, but Empire for value every time

So I went to the Empire last week, first time in a couple of years, and now there are two separate entrances - one for the poker room and a few slot machines, and another for the rest of the casino... what's that all about eh? Are they trying to stop the roulette fish going broke to the poker sharks?

They worked out if they split into two venues, they can have twice the number of slots!

Hey guys,

I will be in London in the next weeks, been a while since my last visit (about a year). Last time I played a lot in The International, I loved the mad action on the 1/2 tables. crazy Asians ("I am ready to gamble!") and other mad players made it essentially a 2/5 game.

That kind of action still to be found there?

i dunno if its just the games I have been playing but the Empire cash games seem tough whenever I have played.... could just be cause my over pairs keep getting raped by sets but who knows. I recommend highly the international club for its 'Behemoth' tournaments, great structures. Empire is pretty awful for tourneys in general.

Can anyone tell me anything about the softness of £1-2/£2-2 PLO or ROE games at the vic?
London Quote
11-10-2010 , 02:34 AM
with regards to fox poker club, I really like the lay out of the cardroom. Also the 1/2 games are incredibly... and I mean incredibly soft- im talking rich arabic businessmen calling my £70 river bet with K high when I have a boat. However there were a few minor things that, when all added up they kind of detracted from the overall fun of the place.

1) the chips are cheap and plasticky. Not the sort of heavy duty clay chips found in all other casinos. These were plastic and made a horrible sound when shuffled.

2) 2 particular dealers I had on my table (not at the same time obv) actually criticised a hand after it had been played. Like one said 'i think betting the turn there is always better' right after a guy had lost a pot. I was like wtf! A player wudnt do that let alone a dealer. They didnt seem to be able to help getting involved- they may be more used to playing than dealing but I felt this was pretty close to formal complaint worthy.

3) This may have just been my view but on entering for the first time it isnt especially obvious (or the staff arent particularly forthcoming on) where to go to get a seat. There seem to be 3 desks and one seems to be there for no reason at all. I asked 2 members of staff before I could ascertain where to even get chips from. Maybe I was being stupid but I dunno, would be interested to hear what and players there felt.
