Gonna miss the main as I gotta work but I'm going up the weekend for cash, I love the big-O games during goliath. Played some marathon sessions last year.

Is there still issues with Spanish players talking Spanish during hands and at the table? I heard a while ago they tended to pollute the 2/5 hippo and many of them and others got black listed from PB.

Hi guys!
I'm looking for stable and reliable internet connection near Paddington station for poker. Could you recommend something please?
What about Relish or unlimited pay as you go by Three?

Played 3 times, twice was a single table and the other time a whole 2 tables!! The play is probably as soft as the Hold'em, in that the mid players will be at a similar level as a £30 Hold'em field but you'll get 1 or 2 that are better than they should be for a £30 comp because there is so little Omaha and there will be 1 or 2 that are absolutely clueless. The structure's not bad for a £30 comp.

I have an Aspers questions. What the hell is this Reg return tournament? There's this on the website

"
Our weekly tournament schedule now has no registration fees!

Instead, 15% of each prize pool will be transferred to our Reg Return Final that players are invited to participate in every Sunday at 2pm. Don't miss this massive second chance tournament with an estimated prize pool of £5,000.
"

So does that mean I can NOT play all week, go on a Sunday and play in a £5,000 freeroll? Are my chips based on the number of tournaments I play (it says 4K chips on the site), what??? How hard is it to fully clarify on the website! I had a look at the T&C's and they don't clarify anything either.

Aspers!

Thought i would share my recent trip. I went on Saturday just gone to play the £220 tournament, as not much else on. It was by far my worst experiance at a casino/poker room in a long time.

things to note (John if your reading this you can sort half of these problems)

1. 1 waitress serving 200+ people (you can bring drinks in now, which is the only bonus)
2. smelly players to the point of me calling the guy out
3. poor / slow dealers who didnt know the half the rules
4. floor staff unable to do basic maths to work out if there's an under raise (i used my calculator to proof i was right was told i was WRONG!!!!)
5. clear softplay/collusion by locals just ignored by staff when mentioned
6. 10 handed tables with big chairs makes for a tight fit at all tables

also, cash games have taken a nose dive, didn't see any major value 1/2 NL games on a peak saturday night, and been told its getting quieter. this was my 2nd visit in 18months, and unless a decent tournament is on i WONT be back anytime soon. I used to be a regular for cash 3/4 times a week, and its the nearest casino for me, but i now avoid it at all costs.

^^Not surprised. Every time Aspers comes up, it's never anything good. Usually it's just one, maybe two, of the above, so kinda impressed that they've now managed to do all of Fazzer's problems to a single person on 1 visit.

If you guys were me, would you go to Vegas and grind for a 2-4 weeks or would you stay in London and grind? My impression is that the games in London are softer than the games in Vegas but Vegas has 2/5 and 5/10 running more or less around the clock whereas that only happens in London on an evening/weekend.

Just interested in some opinions/comparisons that aren't "go to Vegas and stay out of my games!" And yes, women are the rake LDO.
Why would you stay in London at grind the vic when you could be in LV? Also why not LA? Or Miami? Games are infinitely better than LV and London put together.

1) The Vic, Edgware Road for 2/5 and sometimes The Hippo as well. 5/10 will be the Palm Beach in Mayfair
2) Think The Vic is 500bb at 2/5, not sure about the others.
3) Info on their websites - 2/5 usually a session/hourly charge

An update after my visit to Aspers on Friday

23 runners for the Omaha
at least 5 of them didn't understand the rules
at least 5 of them knew the rules but couldn't play for ****
3 players who were really good
I bubbled the final table after getting all in as a 90% fav but I took 4 bounties so not so bad
my main gripe was that some of the dealers were unable to follow how much was in the pot at anytime so play was slowed down when anybody bet pot so it could be counted

The 7pm Hold em tournament was busier than I expected with 200 runners
level of play was mixed
level of dealer incompetence was high

I argued with a dealer after he made a ridiculous ruling he said it was the cardrooms new ruling I said he must be mistaken I called the floor The floor backed the dealer 100% during the break I spoke to the card room manager who confirmed I was correct he asked me who the dealer and floor were so I pointed them out.
They must have been spoken to as I spent the next 4 hrs getting dirty looks from the pair of them

Really nice cardroom
shame about the poor experience, I live in Hertfordshire so there are closer casinos/cardrooms so I wont be rushing back

moan over
good luck at the tables

My friend got the clock called on him by the dealer in Aspers, level of incompetence is staggering in that place.

yeah
The incident I was referring to the dealer was turning over mucked cards because he said it was a new rule to stop collusion
I made a value bet on the river and my opponent called, I turned over the winning hand and my opponent mucked his cards face down, dealer turned his cards over
I told the dealer he was wrong to do that he said he had yo due to new rules, I called the floor who agreed with dealer
I couldn't believe it could be right so I spoke to cardroom manager who confirmed that I was correct
The worrying thing is if both dealer and floor can get such a simple ruling wrong what happens if there is a situation which requires real knowledge to solve

I also witnessed a dealer telling a player he had taken a lot of time on a decision which prompted another player to call clock totally unprofessional

Is that not the current [new for 2017] WSOP rules - to stop tourney drag-ards

It's not for cash games though

And as far as I know [unless they changed] Aspers follow TDA and NOT WSOP -

this was a year or two ago. and it wasn't because he was stalling, he was facing an all in on the river! The floor backed the dealer up as well.

more of private members club with Pool/snooker etc, but not casino yea. still better than having to go to central london or stratford for someone living in south east. There is £250 tourney this saturday I am sure pubs wouldn't have it.

Hi. Do any of you guys know of any non casino poker clubs outside of London? I live in Hampshire and was hoping to find a local venue without the casino games. Thanks

Played it last year when the 2nd day was in Luton, wouldn't be considering playing it again if the 2nd day wasn't at the Vic. Last year after a 1.5 hour trip I lasted about 15 minutes!! The one thing I remember that may not be true this year is that the payouts were really shallow, not sure exactly but I remember it paid something like 6-7% of the field.
