oh right I was thinking of someone else, but I know who you mean now. He's an ass-but then there are quite a few regulars at aspers who are asses so after a while you lose track.

Haha Yea, I know what you mean about some regs being asses but it's been a while since I ran into one. He did make me laugh in the end though, a mix of unbelievable tiredness and the fact that I didn't know someone could be so strange.

You see a lot of weird **** at the Friday 10ks, especially at bubble time, that's part of the fun.

Is it just me or is anyone else finding the 1/2 deepstack games on the Hippo stage a bit heavy going? I thought the cash games during the EPT were supposed to be soft but a lot of these guys seem to know what they're doing.

Those were probably the "amateurs" and semi pros of the EPt main event, starting today. Meaning they are respectable players for the main part. IMO....

You're spot on. They are not juicy for sure.

I think it's just stereotype going back 10 years when internet qualifiers weren't very good.

Bigger games can get very good during EPT. The new faces to 1/2 are going to be in majority young online grinders from all over the world.

A rich fish coming to play big events is not going to sit down at 1/2.

I found the majority of the players are pretty solid and not much value however there are certainly a few bad players who get stacked over and over again just rebuying every time.

Don't know about the EPT games this year, I played the 1/2 deep, 1/2 PLO and 2/5 last year. The 2/5 was juicy, a few rich recs and some regs playing v badly. The 1/2 was nitty, solid play and the 1/2 PLO was probably best value. But yes, I concur the 1/2 deep isn't exactly free money, although as always table selection is key.

In town for EPT, been playing 5/10 and 10/25 PLO. Games are okay, but not as good as most of the other EPT stops. Was wondering if anyone can give me some info on games outside of EPT time. Stakes, how often they run, softness ect.

Thanks

i guess you are asking for bigger games?
2/5 or 5/10 PLO at the vic runs 7 days a week from 4pm to 4am normally and although i am not good at PLO people say is very soft game.
A 5/10 or 2/5 NLH normaly starts at around 2pm in week days and later weekends if 2/5 starts it will run though the night and die around 4-5am if 5/10 starts it will normally run until 7-8pm until the games at palm beach open and then it will die. if both games are running i find the 5/10 a bit softer to be honest. keep in mind like 80% of the time the players agree to run the game as a 5/10/25 and regs dont really go to war with each other and just wait for 2-3 fish to donk the money to someone.
The palm beach has every night 1 or 2 tables of 5/10 at around 8pm those tables can be fishy but the regs tend to battle it out more since if the management suspect 2 people are soft playing or short stacking and winning they will suspend your membership.
Every Monday Tuesday Thursday there will normally be a bigger game running 10/25PLO ,10/25NLH or 25/50NLH but never played any of those games.

p.s keep in mind next week they are changing the dress code at palm beach no hoodies, sweatshirts ,t shirts with big logos or slogans, ripped jeans and no trainers
p.s2 during the EPT the most popular game at the vic are PLO from 2/5-10/25 and palm beach gives priority to games 25/50+ which run every night

I hear that Stratford Aspers have their alcohol license back, anyone seen it or know the story?

Pretty sure they got it back after a few days from what I heard at the Vic.

It's not new in here that Aspers is regarded as a **** hole but last Saturday it was taken to a whole new level. Some cash race qualifiers ware forced to wait over 1.5h (probably more as I was gone after that time) for a seat in cash race tournament due to lack of dealers. I struggle to comprehend how thing as this can happened!? They know about it many weeks/months in advance and they raking it!

I haven't played the August cash race, did that happen before?

I discovered this room when i had to wait 40 minutes on a table with my tournament ticket, (with some 10-20 others players) on friday night before being able to play. But i still like this room.

I was looking on the aspers group website, looking for:

-New head of security
-New 'surveillance staff'
-New 'responsible drinking welfare officer'

LOL

I'm so glad they got rid of those meathead idiots working there though. I've seen them slap and punch people to wake them up!

On a side note, anyone know if they got the ability to serve food and soft drinks between 11pm-5am back? I hope they did, I don't really want to play the friday 10ks until they do.

Saw some guy order a panini of sorts but he went out the room to get it. Unless you mean direct to the table?

nah, any sort of food, one of the things that came along with the alcohol ban is a ban of food and soft drinks between 11pm-5am but if you saw someone and the alcohol ban is lifted then it's probably back. Thanks
