I should really do this (especially at Aspers), I don't.

You should.

Chip sweat+dead skin+dirty fingers+non hand washers.... = bad times

A little anti bacterial cream is +ev imo

I'd guess I've played almost 5k hours of live poker around the world and have never gotten ill from it

14hr sessions /5,000 = ~357 days without being ill....... not factoring in idle time. Etc

All I have to say to that is. Wow. Thats soem seriously squeaky clean pecker opponents your playing with.

Hey guys,

Hitting up London in a few weeks for some cash game action. Will be down for around 7 days playing at the Hippo and Vic, dependent on how the action is.

Hit me up if you want to meet up and grab a beer or something, always good to network with fellow 2plus2ers. May even sort out a game or two.

Have a good one.

Hi guys. The International Club used to have a DC/mixed game with superstud, triple-flop Omaha etc. After the club closed I think some dealers went elsewhere..

Does anyone know if any of these games are being spread in any club?? There was a bunch of regulars that played the game.

Any knowledge out there on this subject? Thanks guys.

Don't they play mixed games at the Vic and hippo? i've seen ROE at empire and aspers occassionally.

Anyone know where they spread chinese or sngs in London?

I've seen regs at the Vic playing self deal chinese on an empty table a few times. No chance that the Hippo or Empire would give you a non poker deck to do such things. Sit and Go's- no chance anywhere, but the scheduled afternoon tournies in the Empire are only 2-3 tables.

DC erupts in the Mint when the right crowd are in, 1/2 PL deep and crazy, basically a couple of very good known players sharking rich feeesh. I'm led to believe it goes off maybe once a week, and they play alot of superstud and 5card PLO8. Speak to Wing the manager if interested, he's not a bad guy and fairly helpful.

PLO in the Empire has been going off a lot more frequently as well, PM me if anyone's interested in starting something regular there, even if its just turning up on the same day and starting a list with a few people on it.

Sit & Go tournaments are a good point. I wonder why nobody does them? You'd think it'd be more economical than an MTT as new ones can start.

I played a couple of £100 SNG at the Fox but that was when PokerStars rented the whole place out and had a staff thing there. They spent about 3 hours trying to fill a £10 SNG, then about 30 seconds after they announced a £100 it filled.

Haha! Good times

Tournies are a loss-leader for most places surely? I doubt they'd want 9 players locked up in an STT generating 10-15% profit per player stake when a 1/2 cash games generates 80-150 an hour

Yes, probably. I reckon they'd do a steady trade of £100 and £200 SNG though. I think that's the format most people play in their home games, so it makes sense to compete for some of that trade.

I actually think offering a variety of game types/formats will drive traffic, rather than just distract from the 1/2 cash games. I think you'll get players show up to STTs that wouldn't play otherwise. Case in point, the number of tournie players who play the £50 10k at Aspers on friday night and disappear afterwards. A lot of these players would never touch a cash table, and wouldn't show up were it not for the £50, 10k.

Oh, and I miss Fox. They used to offer SNGs at the start but I don't think there was enough interest, plus the MTTs were good enough. They also used to host PLO MTTs and DC cash games IIRC.

I think DTD runs SNGs and does quite well out of them.

The bigger buy ins would take so long to start that people would lose interest and the smaller buy ins would have to be raked too much to be deemed worthwhile.

They would be very labour intensive with chips, clock etc.

They would take people off cash games which make money.

The structure would have to be bad to make them not last too long.

the only regular DC game i know of is Luton G, but been told theres not much value (cant tell you myself as i don't play these games)

would anyone be interesed in an OFC poker tournament, bettween £50-£200 once a month somewhere?

Aspers run a £50 one that got 12 runners iirc, was great fun to play even tho it was very shallow stack.

after reading on here, its very easy to run a tournament and doesn't last forever...would anyone be interested and know the best place to get a tournament started?

i would personally love to play OFC cash game, but unless you play for big money per point the casino's would charge to much session charge to make it worth while (we asked aspers to play £2 per point cash game, and they wanted £15-20 an hour per person which isn't affordable)

Remember not too long ago, The Vic put on their Twitter feed that they had a game going. Can't remember if was OFC or regular Chinese, or if they put the stakes.

It was OFC pineapple but it was only running cause some Macau player had came over and it was 600 a point.

They've brought in some rule at the vic that if you're sitting at a table playing cards amongst yourselves without a dealer they will charge £5 a half hour per person just for the privilege of being in their establishment!

Thanks for your answers guys. It seems like I'll have to try and catch Mint sometime. I've never been there so it'll be nice to visit I hope.
Superstud is really what I'm after, and PLO8 is fine too.

The Luton G DC game is basically only Superstud, Courcheval Hi Lo and PLO8 4/5/6.

There are about 12 games on the rotation for it but those 3 are the most played. You might get a couple of hands of Irish or London Lowball but it's Superstud and Courcheval/PLO8 for the vast majority of the night.
