Check back when you actually get here. Although I suspect madlondoner is right it might just be that aspers kicks off considering the location

If any/all of you could take a minute to complete this short survey for a friend, it'd be much appreciated

Slightly worried for Asper's Stratford's heart and commitment to their website.

Tournament calendar for May states "Double Chance Tournament £2,500 Guarantee throughout March"

Oh dear.

Hey all.

Am popping up to London tomorrow (June 1st) just for the night - giving a lift to Guetta and back - what's the best MTT that runs on a Friday night or is anything special going anywhere at all?

Probably quite venue specific- What sort of bankroll should I be looking to establish if I want to play 500NL live at the Vic? Assuming that we buy in for 800-1k (is that enough?) I have only played 1/2 there so I don't have experience of how the 2/5 game goes. Thanks.

How about 5/10 at palm beach? a buy in should be around 3-4k, right?

Going on June 29th and have used that flight for the last 2 years. It's about as nice as any 10 hour flight, just make sure you're with friends and feel free to take advantage of the alcohol they give you

I prefer direct to stopping somewhere, may as well get it over with. Virgin's the only flight isn't it?

Though if you decide to break it in to two, New York for a day or two is obviously the best plan.

Done NY the last 2 times so I opted for a 13-hour layover in Toronto this year, during the daytime, been > 20 years since I've been to Canada so actually more excited about that than my 3 weeks in Vegas! Also, brag: £502 return

BA offer direct from Heathrow I think with a newer plane (on demand films rather than wait for it to start)

Anyone know if there is any PLO played in fox poker?

Surely everyone has machines better than the in-flight entertainment these days?

Also, my 2008 direct flight was £280 (better brag)

They do a PLO £1000 guarantee tourney on saturday afternoon, on the website it states that they have PLO cash games available but I've been there a few times and I've never seen any PLO.

I think you can get some PLO action at the Empire at the right time. But the Empire is...the Empire.

Just like anyone can bring a packet of crisps more substantial and satisfying than the in-flight 'food'.

I think taking advantage of the services you've already paid for (albeit poor services) is psychologically important to people.

And 280 is a sweet deal.

Fox has actually had a table of PLO/dealer's choice almost every time I've been there the last month or so. I find PLO absolutely terrifying so have only played it a couple of times....but it is somewhat common recently; ask the desk to start a game up, you'll usually find a handful of people eager to sit in.

Went to Aspers last night to give the new casino a try - I figured I would give them a while to sort out all the unavoidable early problems.

The poker room seemed fine to me. I played the £50 Deepstack tourney and despite there only being around 40 or so runners it seemed good value with a decent structure........it was still going after 6 hours (including breaks).

The dealers I had all seemed to know what they were doing and the waitresses came round pretty frequently to take orders so no complaints on that score. I didn't get any food though so can't comment on that.

The only drawback is the fact that the poker room is at the very back of the casino so the cash tables might not get as many fish from the shopping centre as expected. However I did see a few faces I recognised from the old Gutshot poker room and also the Fox so I might be wrong on that one.

I drove to the Casino and got parked no problem for the massive cost of £2 (free for first 2hrs then £2 for the night after 6 I think) so that was v good value.

Overall I thought Aspers was pretty good. The bar area next to the poker room had a big screen for the football and all the other sports (rugby, horse racing, greyhounds etc) were being shown on the smaller screens. There was plenty seats and the bar prices aren't too bad for london.

I might go on a regular basis now and I'd recommend other 2+2ers to give it a go.

You should've gone to it when it opened cause whilst the dealers couldn't deal and there were no waitreses, there were also amazing games! Now all the fish are broke.

I guess I got it the wrong way round then!

Still, I had a good time at the casino and the poker room was running well.

The fish are never broke though as like myself they work for a living to fund their entertainment

Does that mean I have to venture back to the Empire for the soft games then?

Yes, go on any evening (6pm onward), it's especially fun if you can afford it, sit down at a 1/2 table with ~£400 and rake it in!
