London
Haven't seen one around and there are a few threads about general poker in London. Don't know if there are many 2+2ers here?

Re: Official London Poker Thread
1/1 is the smallest game, with £3/30min table charge as far as I know. I'll be going down the Vic next weekend probably and possibly play a donkament but I'll defiantly be playing some low stakes cash games if you're going to be around next weekend.

Re: Official London Poker Thread
I'm away at the moment, but usually around London. Played a bit at the vic and the empire, was thinking of checking out the international when i get back - they apparently have this deep stack freezeout on sat afternoons that sounds good.

Re: Official London Poker Thread
yeah at the vic they have 1 1 dealer dealt tables which have a 10% rake (max £5) and there are the self dealt tables which have a £3 per half hour charge. Played for my first time down there tonight. busted out the £50 freezout on the 5th hand i think, but did ok at the £1/£1 tables

Re: Official London Poker Thread
Can anyone comment on the beatability (including the rake) of the 1/1 and 1/2 games around London over a largeish sample? And which games are the best at which casino on which days? I'm sure the games are quite soft, I've heard about a 1/3 game as well what is the rake structure like in that game?

No rake, £7.5 hourly charge. All games are defiantely beatable despite the heavy rake.

I went there with exactly the same intent yesterday but apparently me and my mate were the first 2 to ask about the afternoon tourney in about a month and it hadn't run it about forever.
The evening tourney was a bit of a joke too, it had an aweful structure imo.

Re: Official London Poker Thread
10% rake up to £5 seems pretty extortionate to me...is this game still beatable?

the rake's a ***** if you are used to playing in more rake-friendly casinos this side of the atlantic, but the rooms in london are more than beatable for any decent holdem or omaha player

Re: Official London Poker Thread
I worked this out with a dealer who deals to me a lot. We worked out the average TAG makes around £30 an hour and pays around £15-£20 an hour in rake on top. So without rake decent players can crush for like £50 an hour but the game is still definately beatable. Its pretty bad when you look at like this but nobody will play 50/1 for a significant amount of hands. The dealer games are only £6 an hour but you get half the hands in, and the fact you'll want to cut yourself from the slow/bad dealing and the amount of trash talk that goes on. Its prob worth moving up to 1/2 or 1/3 if you plan on playing a lot. You definately pay less rake and the games are still as soft.

What are the dealers like at the Vic? Competent, average, bad?
How many hours can you expect / hour?
