Hey everyone!

I'm shifting my very fine arse down to the Empire this evening to get involved with players who horribly over-value top pair. Will I have the pleasure of anyone from here's lovely company?

not today but tomorrow, if anyone here is going to be there tomorrow daytime, look for the youngest player at the cash game tables, that'll be me.

The Grosvenor Victoria casino ("The Vic") is your best bet for regular games above 1/2, I believe.

I'm going to london today, and will stay for 4 days. What's the best place to go to play tournament poker? I guess cashgames are easier to find. But where can I find the casinos tournament schedule? and where is the best place to go?

All dealer dealt good level of buy ins.

Hey

I am quite new to London, just moved in.
Do you guys know where I can find games close to Westbourne Park in Notting Hill? (W11)
The closest I found so far is The Vic obviously, but I would like to know if there is a club in a walking distance.
Thanks!

YBA! The vic is pretty much walking distance anyway, can't imagine it's more than half an hours walk.

EDIT: 37 minutes according to google maps, and not through a particularly nice area, but if you can afford to live in notting hill you can afford to take a taxi.

I used to live in Royal Oak and a Taxi to Edgware road (where the Vic is) is about a tenner.

There's also a Gala Casino at the South end of Bayswater/Queensway which I've heard runs one table of £1/2. Never been in there though so no idea if it's any good.

Yeah like Essex Eagles said, it's easily the International Club. Good range of buy-ins as well and it's really friendly in there.

So I had my longest ever live session at the Empire last night, from 6pm till 8.30 this morning (only 14 and a half hours? What a noob! ) and I was up £623, despite constantly being sat with decent players. And I've got to say, I was really proud of some of my play - I was mixing it up against the regs, value-towning the fish and I made a couple of difficult calls based purely on a read that were spot on.
I've been playing a lot more live poker recently and I think I'm now hurtling towards being an official degen gambler scum-of-the-earth type. Woo go me!

I've played a fair bit live since moving back to London and definitely want to do it more often too. I managed to 4 bet bluff to £60/fold when I played late on Friday, possibly my first ever live four bet bluff, which I guess means the games are sometimes getting tougher. Don't think I've sat with any good regs, but we ARE talking 1/2 here. Everyone has big betsize tells or big preflop leaks (let alone postflop)

Last night, at the empire, I sat at a 1/2 game with a 5/10 online reg and another seemingly very solid player, both of whom had blackbelt sponsors. There were like 2 bad players, 3 below decent players and no whales, it was odd.

When the player pool is pretty large and people don't change tables that often I guess it's inevitable that sometimes tables will be much much tougher than average. If you turn up often enough to know who the reasonable players are think you should table switch a lot more often than anyone seems to do. I tend to just get drunk instead on the £4.50 pints.

yeah i switched tables 4 times in the 12 hour period, prob woulda switched even more since 4/5 of my tables were actually above avg for empire standards but i had the glory seat on every table, 6 decent players, two donators, me

I was the fool in the cowboy hat, sat at the £1/2 table 2nd-on-the-right as you walk in. I then sat with the £1/2 game on the left hand side at about 5am onwards. What were you wearing mate?

Unfortunately, I only play £1/2, I've not got the bankroll for £1/3 yet.
