I'd love to go play mixed games there but 20/40 is a bit out of my zone. Can you think about running a 8/16 game like the ones in AC? Is 20/40 the lowest you'll go for mixed games?

We can do 8/16. If we get enough to spread it, we will.

anyone who is for time rake at any level has never spent enough time at a casino that has it, and especially been at a casino for a long time that was pot rake then switched to time rake.

THE DEALERS SPEED AND ATTENTION TO DETAIL WILL DROP OFF SEVERELY!!

pot rake games, the casino has interest in making sure they have fast, accurate dealers... when it's time rake they are immune from slow, terrible dealers. they loose all skin in the game.

NO TIME RAKE PLEASE.

I really can't see an argument for time rake. Anyone care to convince me how time rake is good for anything else except for the pockets of the casino?

I will start an interest list for 8/16...that's two. It would have to be Monday-Thursday, might even be able to include Sunday. If we get enough interest we can decide day and time. I'll post on Twitter as well.

Stud/8 coming soon...2-7 single draw and Ace to Five also.

not to shill for management or anything, but i've always heard that the amount of time players take to act in big bet games severely reduces the # of hands per hour as compared to a limit game.

if the room needs to get a certain amount of money/sq ft of gaming space, then time rake in no limit/pot limit games makes sense.

Edit: I make no claims as to the wisdom of $14/hr time charge, only the concept behind it.

of course, I play very little no limit/pot limit, so i could be way off here.

Trip Report:

Came over from Houston for a couple days to check out the room... Grades from a journeyman whose been in over 50 US poker rooms:

- Room ambiance (sights) [A]: great location for general people watching and TV's are well placed. Lighting just about right. Pluses for location near to bathrooms and drink station.

- Room ambiance (sounds) [B-]: since it is open to the casino floor, the noise level is pretty high (esp. the front tables).

- Table comfort [B]: nice chairs, new tables with cup holders. Only complaint is the space between players is cramped. Table spacing seemed OK (not much bumping).

- Dealers [C]: there are a few decent ones. But, overall the crew needs some work. I would say that, on average, there was 1 misdeal per 45 min. Dealers not all on same page with rules, etc.

- Management [B]: Generally sensed they were still ironing out a few things. It doesn't help that they act as cashier and must unlock their drawer and sell/cash chips for each player. The system of text notification (vs. paging) seems to delay filling open seats (i imagine people on the list venture out further since they do not need to listen for their name).

- Players (i.e. action) [B+]: Seemed to be a mix of old vets. and visitors. The room location seems to help bring $ to the games. If one plays proper limit w/kill strategy, there is $ to be had.

- Waitresses [B]: No real complaints. Service was decent throughout the day.

- Food [C+]: To be fair, i only ordered from the table side menu once (cheeseburger). Average quality at pretty high costs, and took forever to come out. You can apply your player comps. to the order.

Overall, its a nice step up from the Isle of Capri... I'll be coming back.

I think for this part of the country, that is a great report card. Hopefully the dealers will improve, but I will say this; give them 6 months, after that they won't be improving

Great feedback, much appreciated. If I may throw in my two cents:

Noise levels: probably not a whole lot we can do right now, we'll see what happens though. The most frequent suggestion is to glass in the room. The one thing we don't want to do from a design standpoint is to make the room appear to be completely separate from the casino.

Dealers: In my opinion, lots of good ones and a handful that need work. They will improve and we'll try to give them the tools to do so.

Management: Cashier issue being worked out. I agree, it is a cumbersome task for the supervisor to act as the cashier. Text messaging system as well, working on it. But it is the method we will continue to use, just needs refining.

Again, thanks for the report. If you have any other suggestions I'll gladly take them.

Preferably eight, maybe seven, if we're going to schedule it as a weekly or regular game.

What about a omaha 8 or better?
Been playing on the week nights, I am seeing is 3-4 empty tables, that could be filled with a 1-3 no limit, 2-5 is great with lots of action, but a smaller game would fill the gaps in my opinion.

New dealers need work, It is a time game so making change every other hand eats at the clock. That is my only complaint.

Love the room, great job.

Well the room rep said ITT that if we get 7-8 ppl he would 100% run the game. Only thing; at first it will be reg infested(well i'm a fish) while the game gets off the ground and hopefully some ppl will trickle into the game and make it happen on a more consistent basis.

Sorry if I've missed any posts, been on vacation. Once we get enough interest and we can decide on what day, we'll spread it. Also looking to get a mid-limit Hold Em game together during the week, in case you all would be interested in that as well.
