I'm thinking Wednesday's may be better to try and play. I don't know, maybe Kim can chime in and let us know if we would have a better chance at having an open table and dealer on Wednesday rather than Thursday.
We've been much busier during the week, plus PLO is running every Thursday. Wednesday is probably the better option. We're actually in the process of hiring more dealers to help during the week. We have a couple starting soon, you'll recognize them from the Isle. Good people.

Looks like you guys are looking to play this Wednesday. I'll get with Roger and make sure we're ready and there aren't any problems getting it open.

Sorry about that, we just didn't have the dealers to open it that night. That issue is being resolved. It'll run Wednesday if y'all want to play.

3 so far looking good for a game (even if we get it kicked off 3 handed should be fine)! I will try to bring someone with me but he works during week so might be hard for him to make it but I am going to ask. Anyone know how to reach the other guys?

the last time we played with a full game, we played 6/12 with 10/20 overs and it worked out really well.

i'm assuming we're going to do that again?

would anyone oppose to $2 antes on teh stud games? I think it'll be better for generating action in those games. Yes overs is fine for me although i most likely won't be able to participate in that.

Kim did stud8 ever get approved?

So we are at 6 now? I'll mention it to some of the 2/5 regs and see if anyone else is game.

it would definitely generate more action. i don't recall there being a lack of action in the stud games, was this the case?

Thats a solid 5 should surely be able to pick up a few interested players once it gets going. 6-12 with 10-20 overs sounds good to me. 6-12 with $2 ante seems kinda steep would be good if was straight 10-20 but whatever everyone wants to do is fine with me. Is hilo stud regular approved (no 8 qualifier)? Hopefully Roger will put the game up and our names on when he gets there int he morning but if not I should be there late morning early afternoon and I will put everyone up if leave first names.

i always have my hopes up for getting random people to sit down, but i'm always disappointed. especially by the 2/5 players that are like 6th on the list for no limit and would rather stare at the ceiling while waiting instead of sitting down in an empty seat in the mixed game.

limit isn't real poker, ldo

What time will everyone be there? New dealers will be in at 7 but if we can get enough interest rally and the room is slow maybe we can get a table sooner

Kinda late for this but i always thought itd be kinda cool. If we fet a solid group going weekly or biweekly we can keep a scoreboard of who is the biggest winner and everyone in the game puts that person in at equal shares into a wsop 8game event. Just food for thought. First order of business is getting a steady game going and lets start that tomorrow night

Playing 4/8 would probably get us more of the randoms who just want to Jul time and mess around

my suggestion would be for the room to run an 8 game mix satellite tournament. i have no clue as to the # of raked hours they would need to justify this expense, but the cost of the package would "only" be $2500 plus any amount included for travel costs.

i'll leave it to the professionals, but it seems to me that there could be a minimum # of hours played in the weekly mixed game as a requirement for the tournament or there could just be a buy-in with all entry fees going to defraying the cost of the prize package. i would personally do something along the lines of $50 entry fee + 5 hour minimum spent in the mixed game, helping the demand for the game on a weekly basis as well as adding money to the prize pool.

this could end up being a reasonable investment by the room into getting a status of "the only place to play all forms of poker"

Maybe the room could offer that as a promotion to get a steady mix game going on one of the poker rooms slower nights?

unfortunately, this is very accurate. we should also emphasize the lack of any kill in this game since it was always my impression that the half-kill was the real problem a lot of the limit players had with the 6/12 game

The more I think about it, the better 4/8 sounds for now. Need all the help we can get if we want to try to make the game a regular thing. I like the idea of doing something to send someone to the wsop but I don't think there is enough in the promotional funds to justify any type of freeroll.the little money there is needs top go to the players of the games that run every day.

Oh, and the promotional funds isfunded by the jackpot drop, so the mixed game will never contribute any.

I personally think dropping it to 4-8 instead 6-12 it won't matter in getting someone who wants to sit down and play the games. The 4-8 rather then 6-12 for limit holdem is cause the 4-8 is mainly made up of older social player who want to sit around and try to hit the bad beat jackpot. Mix game doesn't have to worry about hitting a bad beat jackpot.

Thats probably true but for someone that wants to learn the game/playing for first time 4/8 is a more cost effective lesson than 6/12
