Does 5/10 NL go everyday at Harrahs or almost every day besides maybe Sundays?
Does 10/20 NL still go? and if so when?
Thanks for your responses and I saw back in May about the game was going but was hoping and trying to confirm that the game was still strong b/c the 5/10 NL game in STL has dried up due to most of the players in Vegas for the WSOP.
Thanks again
It was a super juicy amazing game filled with old calling stations who didn't know the rules to PLO (calling down with 3 low- "I thought all Omaha was hi/lo?") No one, err besides me, not even the dealers, knew what "pot" was (they knew how to say "pot" but not how to calculate it) so would bet all kinds of weird low amounts.
I know both Ameristar/Harrahs run daily MTT's, but I hope they will come up with some sort of deepstack weekly/monthly or even a series. Shame all we have to choose from MTT wise is shallow stack turbos.
I registered an account to update some information on both rooms in KC. Both poker rooms have been slow lately, but ameristar has def been getting more 1/2NL games going. Most weekdays, they start the first at 9AM, and have two more going by noon. They usually get a fourth going by 3pm. Astar has a hard time getting 2/5NL going bc they offer 75% buy-in rule on all 1/2 games. Harrahs is going to have the higher-end NL games all the time. The last time I was in there was about a month ago on a saturday night and they had three 1/2nl, one 2/5NL, and one 5/10NL game running. I got in there about 11pm after work and played on an excellent 2/5NL game.
As far as tourneys go, I'm not sure what harrahs has. I know Ameristar has a $85 7PM NLT on tue, wed, and thu, which has been selling out at 40 players. On fri, sat, and sun, they have a $65 11AM rebuy tournament. Rebuys and add-ons are $15 and are unlimited for the first four levels. The rebuy tourneys have been having around $3600 in the prize pool.
And as far as that PLO game goes at harrahs, I have played in it about 8-10 times and it is hit or miss. One week I played in it, it was the sickest game I have ever played, having multiple $1500+pots with people calling river pot bets with bottom set...lol. And other weeks, it is a super-nit terrible game not worth your time. When we first started playing PLO over there, it started out as a 1-2-5 game, and ended up being a 2/5 game as of late.
Has anyone heard any new information on the Hollywood Casino opening early next year? Are they going to have a WPT sponsored room like some of the others? I hear they will have 24 tables as well, making it the biggest room in the city. I imagine if it is run right it will steal many of the Kansas players. Not to mention it is actually being built around a thriving area unlike harrahs and the star.
Yes Hollywood Casino should be opened by first quarter next year. Check their Facebook page for construction updates, looking pretty sweet. Since i live up north this kinda blows since it'll mean a longer drive, but i'll def be out there.
I agree it should draw a good crowd. It sits right on the race track so lots of good traffic from that on the weekends, plus it should steal some of the JoCo/OP/Olathe crowd.
For the dealers in town, they are having a dealer job fair Sat Aug 13, if you are interested.
The 2-5 PLO is running 4-5 days a week now from what I have seen/heard. I know it is running every Weds and Friday night. It's also going tonight (Monday).
I wish the PLO would become a NLHE(or PLHE)/PLO/PLO8 mix like they have at Iowa casinos. There has been a little interest in it when I have asked a few players, not sure if the house would even allow it to run.
Last Wednesday there was (1) 5-10 NLHE, (4) 2-5 NLHE, (1) 2-5 PLO, and (5?) 1-2 NLHE games. Probably (1-2) 3-6 limit but not paying attention to that.
I am also hoping the Hollywood Casino poker room is well run, I am in JoCo and would like the shorter drive.
