I'm heading up tomorrow morning for a few hours. How many tables do they have running today?

Ok the poker room phone number is 297-4545. They are NOT taking call aheads at the moment but will in a couple of weeks.

Also, i looked at the www.bravopokerlive.com site then called the poker room and this is spot on. Bravo poker is hooked into the waiting list and table system for most casinos. So it's as accurate as anything.

update, the line was 55 min to get in and growing... They block out people so you can wait for 15 min at a time where nobody goes inside.

Once you're inside, DO NOT WAIT an hour in line to get a total rewards card. Go straight to poker tables and the staff will fetch you one.

The room really needs to drop the rake to $4 and get good chairs.
Really good games can overcome a $6 max + $1 BBJ for 1/2 NL, but anyone playing 3/6 Limit is just asking to lose. And eventually, you could try to fight the rake down to $5 max. No way in hell you'll get it to $4 max. Ohio is taxing casinos' revenue at 33%, almost 5 times higher than Vegas, and hell Caesar's properties still rake $5 max in Vegas anyway...lol The only other state I'm familiar with $6 (or more) max is Illinois. Indiana is $5 max and taxes casinos' revenue at 30%.

1/2 - 100-300
and
2/5 - 200-1000

This is for PLO only I think.

I heard that the parking was ridic so I'm pleased to see they comp you for playing poker. 1 hr of poker for free parking ($35) seems a bit generous?

it's an easier way of saying free parking for casino guests I guess without having everyone in the entire downtown taking up the lot

However they have "no flop no drop" I think that is an even trade off. It frustrates me when i play at rivers or charlestown and the dealer takes $5 from a $50 preflop pot when there is no flop.

Wow.... Anyone know if this is subject to eventual change? I haven't played enough live poker to know if casinos adjust their rake. I would hope so, because this is ****ing terrible.

I just talked with room manager Jeremy and made sure he was aware of this thread. He will read all of the posts itt, and will look into getting a rep from the room or himself to post but gave no guarantee atm.

He did say players are always welcome to email him. His personal email can be found in the bravo listing.

If you have a problem with the rake, then just play at another casino. I'm going to try the Horseshoe out, but I don't plan on playing there much with what is likely to be the same games and a higher rake.

Just got back and there was no line to get in. The casino is loud and crowded but you expect that. As for poker? Well its poker. The games dont feel as live as you would think in CLeveland. I saw some pretty normal poker going on, nothing nuts. I played some PLO but for a short time bc I had to leave. Rake is 6+1 as stated but there is a rule that if only 6 players are dealt in then its 4 rake.

I talked to James for a little and 20/40 limit is a time game and 5/10nl is time I think. The time rates he said were nuts to me but he said 8/half. I am not 100% though.

As for parking, its easy. Just play and earn enough credits (15) then go to the total rewards desk or the promotions kiosk and swipe your card and get a voucher for parking.

ya its been awhile since i played cleveland poker, but i think nlhe and plo taking over has killed a lot of the fun and profitability. the limit games used to be crazy 5+ to the flop for 3 bets all the time. the volatile gas station owners would just tilt run thru so much cash.

how much is mirage 20/40 time? its been so long since i played live poker. 8/hr doesnt seem that bad. if you are a limit guy, i would def be willing to try to get a 20/40 running regularly. proly would need to beef up the feeder games to keep it. the old charity games were limit and there would be 4 5-10 kill, 3 10-20 half kill and 1 15-30 at peak times.

i think 3-6 is a bad structure. would prefer a 2-4, 4-8, 8-16 graduation.

anyway, proly should how to play plo.

Had a chance to check the place out today. Arrived around 2:15 pm,was long lines at every entrance, so I tried the basement entrance in Tower City. I probably would have waited 45 minutes to and hour but luckily my brother was much farther in line and ninja snuck me in. Waited about 15 minutes to get in overall and also got a parking space on the third level of the garage.

Poker Room
- Overall impression is very nice. Right off the escalator on the top floor. Was seated immediately. Saw the new manager Jeremy and talked to him briefly, he was nice and very busy obviously.
- Drink service was decent overall considering how busy it was today.
- Dealers were pretty good actually, sometimes they were not very assertive in explaining rules and some players were quick to jump all over them.
- One problem which may arise is from the lack of a betting line. it wasn't always clear when players had money in the pot for a call/ raise and when it was just their stack.
- The cage was very slow which made long lines for getting chips and chip runners to get chips. I know this will get better, just letting everyone know to have patience.
- Business was booming. As of writing this there are 29 tables running! I think 17 1-2NL and like 4 or 5 2-5NL
- Yes rake sucks, hopefully they can make 5 + 1 eventually. For now just enjoy the nice new room!

The time rake I stated was for a half hour, not full hour! Also, I walkee by the 3/6 and the rake was 6+1 there as well.

Got there at 530 today and there was no line ... Played from about 630 til 1130

The poker room

+ loved the tables and chairs. Lots of space at the tables.
+ dealers were solid for the 2nd day and were very friendly. Tables are so big though people in seats 2 3 8 and 9 have to sometimes help dealers with bets (pushing them toward pot). Need a bet line.
+ drink service was great.
+ lots of action, at least at my table and no one buying in the minimum.

- cashiers blow, I know they'll get better. One cashier almost gave a guy an extra 1000 dollars. The manager/supervisor caught it last second. Lolz
- the rake... 6+1 at 1/2 is ridiculous.
- seats were constantly open and sometimes took a while to fill but this was also because the cashiers sucked. Dealers need to have more in their tray. At 1/2 they had $500 max. They need to have like 2 or 3 k in there to help people that rebuy.

Overall I love the room it has great potential and it beats any charity casino in the area. Also beats driving to Detroit or Pittsburgh

B+

Played a 10 hour session today. My first impressions are this:

Good:
- friendly attitudes from floor, staff, and dealers
- great looking room, spacious tables

Bad:

- rake too high
- comps are the worst I've seen (25 cents/hour)
- floor needs to work on accommodating table changes
- cashiers extremely slow
- it sucks having to walk outside for parking

Overall the place had a really good feel to it. I listed more negative things than positives but the atmosphere made up for it. There's no doubt this place will be a success.
