Heading for Cleveland next week, gonna be there for 3 weeks from the looks of things. Am I reading this thread correctly, in that it is $35 to park at the casino, and then I have to wait in a line to get in?

Does the o/8 game ever go?

Park in the casino garage diagonal from the casino and get 15 total reward credits and it is free. Print the comp from a kiosk in the casino. You shouldn't have to wait I was there the last two Saturday nights no wait. Parking info -> http://cleveland.about.com/od/attrac...-Cleveland.htm

Yes but it is starting to become an issue. As with anything, some scum is runing it for the rest of us. I carry an Ipad, Ipod, headphones, chips, wallet, medicine, etc... in mine and the check it when you walk in. Usually no issues but the lastfew times they really went through it and wanted to search INSIDE my pill bottles (asprin, pepto, perscription stomach stuff). I was like WTF???? Opening my bag, then opening my medicine box, then opening the bottles!!!! Then they said they want to make sure I am not selling the meds!!!!!! And one asked why I need these meds.

I asked for their supervisor quickly and discussed. They cant ask me personal information like that, nor do I think they can search the bottles.

But it is a private place and they have a right to refuse entry so I have to comply I guess.

Just really pisses me off that *******s come here and scam the casino and we pay the price:

-No hats at the table games (they dont really enforce this that much anymore) because people were cheating and hiding faces.

-No cell phones at the poker table while in hand because 1/2 players w $50 stacks were texting their hands to eachother.

-Backpack issues because people were bringing in stuff that they shouldnt.

Never ends

I do not represent the casino in any way. I have spoken with the floor on these issues more than once because they seemed confusing and not what I was used to in other poker rooms. There's a reason

If you bet and I call, I want to see your hand sometimes. This was one of those times. How about a staff member chime in.
It's bad poker etiquette IMO.

There are differing opinions on whether or not the rule is good or bad for poker, even though it is the standard in most rooms. Although it may or may not have started that way historically (depending on who you ask), rooms today use the rule to prevent collusion. Some people feel the rule isn't effective, abused, or perhaps some other reason and choose not to have one. At the Horseshoe, you can only ask to see a hand when collusion is suspected and in the presence of a floor. I hope that helps. If not, use the search function and search IWTSTH in this forum.
This.

At some point the dealer should state to the player that made the last bet on the river to either open his hand or fold. If they refuse, floor should be called over and restate to the player to "show your hand or fold."

If noone bets the river: the player closest to the button clockwise (worst position) should be the one to open their hand 1st or fold.

Absolutely. If the other player mucks and you are the only person remaining in the hand, you do NOT have to show your hand to win if you don't want to.

I dont know if your stating general rules or actual Horseshoe rules here... Please advise.

As for the River and no bet situation, I thought it went back to last action. So on the turn if the button bets and the bb calls and they both check the river, the button should show first.

Also, it is not bad ettiquite if I call someones bet on the river and want to see what he had. I wait for them to turn over 75% of the time.

IMO= In my opinion. All other statements are specifically what the floor told me when I asked politely away from the table. I asked the same questions to different floor to see if they were just making **** up or actually being consistent.

No. That's what I thought too....this rule is ******ed imo. They said if there are no actions on the river, the player who is in the worst position has to show first or fold. Even if they are all in pre, flop or turn!!

I think asking to see another players hand is bad etiquette, but that is my opinion.

**I feel pretty confident in my understanding of these rulings but don't take my word as gospel. I suggest asking the floor for clarification and then report back.**

I usually bring in a back pack to hold my IPAD, thermal, and food. Most security guards barely look in it and only look in 1 pocket of the 5...not really sure what thats supposed to accomplish. I did have one guy confiscate my almonds once though. God forbid someone eat healthy.

Yea I have to admit I thought this for the longest time. I was corrected by a dealer(Caesars Windsor) after I check called the flop/turn then went check check river. I was OOP and waited to see my opponent's hand but he wouldn't show until I showed. He was mostly a dick about it but he was right, I was supposed to show my hand first being in worst position.

Yea, that's why I always force the person to show BOTH their cards even if I'm sure I have the winning hand, if they were the last to bet. I never let them see mine first.
I also hate when a player who is supposed to show only shows one card, the other player mucks, and the hand ends. I usually make a fuss and ask to see both cards. There is a difference to me when I see a pair of kings with K7 as opposed to AK.

Played in the tourney today...actually was the first one out. KK - Floped KA7 with 2 hearts. Pushed - one caller drew out to a flush on the river. He did have the A of hearts so I guess I understand. Oh well! Was good to see the tournament was well organized and the staff did well.

Weekly - Monday 12:00 PM $200 buy in. 20% goes to the house and the rest to the pot. There is a $10 add-in which gives you an additional 1,00 chips that you can add to your tournament stack of 5,000 for a total of 6,000 chips. The $10 goes to the dealers and is shared throughout the casino.

I believe the levels are change every half hour and start at 25-50. Antes start after the first break (175-300). I could be wrong on that.

The first tournament had 180+ participants and they paid out 18 spots. Essentially they are paying 1 person for every 9 participants. The lowest payout was around $470 with first place getting +$7,500 - Second +4,300.

hope this helps! Still not sure who won the first tournament though.
