Well last I heard they were looking to possibly have it at the Q or in a conference area in the Ritz I believe. They have to get it approved by the gaming commission to have off site gambling.

They might just cram a bunch of tables right outside the poker area like Southern Indiana does.

Stellar poker room management last night.... Two floorman standing around chatting, 40 minutes later after being told 5 times that our table has 3 open seats, finally calls list and bitchy about being told to do her job.

Getting approval isn't a problem. Just have to grease the right palms.

Plans for poker tables are to put them in the VIP offices (obviously close the offices and make more room). Its said that about 12-18 tables can fit there.

Also, for circut events, Renaissance and not the Ritz. THe Ritz would be horrible and the Ren is perfect and has more room and is on the lower floors. At the Ritz you need to go to the 6th floor before it starts to be the Ritz and the lobby.

It isn't the best idea but it is probably the easiest for them. In S Indiana the time I was there for the first tourney they also had 30-40+ people who bought in that didn't have seats until others busted. Cash didn't run for several hours.

She sucks, and get's bitchy when you call her out on something. She always seems like she's in a bad mood, or has something more important to do.

How hard is it to call off names, when you have your own players telling you there are seats open before the floor staff notices?! The 1/2 PLO games are usually right behind the desk, we had 2 seats open for an hour with 8 names on the list, needless to say those next two could have gotten an hours more worth of play if she just did her job.

Also she sucks.

The front desk is the only area of the poker room that has not improved. I also am unimpressed by the female managers and the short guy with red hair. They are horrible at filling seats and getting your name on the lists takes 2x a long as required.

Hell, even the cashier's cage has improved, they only count your money twice now.

Hey guy's i'm moving to the area and won't know like anyone so if anyone would like to meet up and play or get drinks etc - i'd be down. I'm moving up in late August.

Played 2/5 in Cleveland yesterday for the first time. Have to say that it seemed to me that the room was terribly run overall. The dealers I had yesterday appeared to be trying very hard but weren't able to follow the action and count chips etc like they should at the same time. I'm sure they'll improve as time goes on. The biggest gripe I had was that it seemed like the poker room managers weren't really managing the room. They more or less just called out names and stood at the front desk for the most part talking to one another while dealers sat at empty tables, seats went unfilled, and mostly needless lines built up.

Also, is anyone else weirded out by the fact that there are infinite cops/security in the casino, but there are none in the parking garage? This is obv the most dangerous area as far as I'm concerned.

Anyone know if they have lockboxes at the shoe?

Why would the casino care about the parking garage? They aren't making any money off you there.

There is a cop at each entrance of the parking lot everytime I have been there.

Also, I am not sure how the rake comes into the breakdown.

It says 94 table games and we know the poker room has 30.

What can we assume for rake?

Horseshoe CLE

30 poker tables

1 table, 30 hands an hour, average rake of $5/hand, table open on average 12 hours a day times the number of tables

30*5=$150

$150*12 hours=$1,800

$1,800*number of table (average 20) 1800*20=$36,000/day in rake.

$36k in rake... think about how much $ is gambled on the tables to generate that figure.

how is rake collected in 2/5 and up? do they charge a fee for time, or is there a higher cap on the rake?

2/5 is $6 cap + $1 for bad beat jackpot. 5/10+ is timed.

Lovely IMO. Half the table is buffoons other half some decent regulars. Wish I could play there everyday frankly.

the games have been kind of boring. if you've ever played at nautica you will miss having bloated multi-way pots every other hand. most players buy-in short and play very passively (limp-call). it's easy to push the table around and make money but it's just not as fun

I would think an avg rake of $5/hand may still be a little too high for 1/2 nl and definitely for 3/6 limit, even with a 6 dollar cap.

Harrah's STL roughly has half the traffic as Cleveland and have a $4 max rake. They collected $324k in rake/tourney fees in May. So with this figure in mind, I would be surprised if the poker room in Cleveland got to $1M in rake last month. $800 to $900k is more likely imo. Either way, it has a very strong base.
