I've always heard 30 hands/hr as the standard for most hold'em games. I think you'd be hard pressed to find any game where they get out 40 hands/hr, especially low stakes limit where you get 6 limpers every hand and frequently go to showdown.

30 hands/hr is standard for math purposes I guess but this place is horrible. I have said it before, if you are on the high limit side of the room you get good dealers and if you are on the other side the dealers suck. Sorry to be harsh but its true.

I have only played 2 hours of hold em and the rest PLO and if a PLO game is on the other side of the room (the table behind the desk) then you get maybe 10-15 hands an hour. First, it takes every dealer 5 minutes to count the rack and is PAINFUL to watch. Then they only deal 2 cards and the freak out bc its their only PLO table they ever get. Then cards flip up and the first deal of a new dealer is usually a misdeal.

I will be traveling up from the Cincy area to check out Cleveland's new casino this weekend. Frankly I am surprised at the complaining going on in this thread. As a new poker room I would hope that the players would cut them a little slack with the dealers, drink service, and comp system. I've played in places where the rake is higher than Cleveland's and the extra $1 rake is only in larger pots. As a former frequent visitor to Hammond I know that the current poker room manager is extremely competent and friendly to clientele. I'm looking forward to playing here for a coupla days and hope the room vibe isn't as negative as this thread's tone gives off.

People like to complain. It's a brand new room with lots of brand new dealers, everyone is trying their best but of course there will be some mishaps/slower dealers. I had a great experience there with everything, just except that the rake super high for anything lower than 5/10.

I am just saying that I have had some dealers where I got 5 hands in a half hour. That isnt acceptable to me... THe dealers at Nautica were better than these sometimes.

Try PLO when they dont know how to deal it, then mess up, then dont understand the rules, cant call the board, and cant add the pot. The table takes over after that. Its just a mess...

I know, they are new, thats fine. But put the PLO where the dealers know how to deal. They are "professionals" and its been long enough (with training) to deal a game.

And, to add to this, I talked to Jeremy and he said that ALL PLO games should be on the other side of the room and has sent many emails and left messages for the day shift when starting the game. Why it is not done, he doesnt know. But he, along with the other floor members agree that this is an issue.

I also think a lot of the rants/complaints come from the fact that NE Ohio had a ton of home games before the casino opened. The dealers would make good money. they needed to be on their game or they would be fired/replaced. The dealers at the shoe are polite and pleasant but IMO not all of them are professional.

Ex. I was playing 2/5 PLO and 1 guy potted the turn and the remaining player showed the NFD and folded. The dealer then rabbit hunted and looked at the river card! This is unacceptable. I said, "you're not supposed to do that, sir.". And he replies with "it's my table, I do what I want." and laughs as if nothing was wrong.

.
this for sure. those home games and the old rotating charity games had sick dealers. on average better than vegas imo. hell, half of them moved to vegas eventually.

Right. Frankly, I can't imagine ever seeing 40 hands/hour there.

In reality rake plus bbj plus tip does not break $200/hr.

But still a lot of money.

I'd like to see a 10/20 hold em, or even mix game consistently spread. The Nautica tent used to have 10/20 and it was fairly popular. Once the NL games came around, the limits seemed to drop mostly to 5/10 and then that game died to 3/6. I'm just not sure if Cleveland has the interest in bigger limit games, nor am I sure whether or not the fish would play 10/20 if it came back. You used to be able to crush the limit games at Nautica and the Vegas Nights, but it seems like a lot of action junkies are playing PLO now.

This is true and why I am afraid that the limit games we get going will be 6 from here and 2 other decent players.

Another night of long lists and a non-full-spread room according to Bravo.

WTF Cleveland Horseshoe. So, so, so bad.

So I refresh Bravo (chilling out tonight, reading through 2+2 bit by bit OCD style), and I see Cleveland goes down from 22 to 19 games, and think "OK, its late, they broke 3 tables, and all the lists got cleared off because of their incompetence of not staffing for full spread and people left"...

...and there's still 65 people on the 1/2 list!

Where the **** did those dealers from those 3 games that went down go?

Holy **** has anyone heard of OT? Let those dealers deal and make bank (even with the ****ty tip sharing all the hours will add up).

Meet the customer demand. If I was there as a customer, saw the mile-long lists, and the 8, now 11 empty tables, I'd be ****ing livid.

a 10/20 LHE O8 mixed game ran with b/t 5-9 players for the 4hrs Iwas there. Which was 8-12. The game was going strong with 8 players still in after I left at midnght. I got there at 715 and didn't even know the game was running until the speaker said there is an open table on 10/20 mixed so it prob wasn't on bravo. Overall I was happy with the amount of players but I do feel some of them sat down b/c they didn't know what the game and limits were and b/c there were very few other open tables.

Pure speculation here but it seems they are cutting down dealer hours or something, because even downstairs they have like 2 or 3 crap tables unopened around 6pm when the demand is there. But yes i noticed this in the poker room the other day that bunch of tables werent being used. On another less related note, it annoys me that drinks are coming in plastic cups instead of glasses. Did the dishwasher break or something, just doesnt seem classy esp for alcoholic drinks. This is an upscale casino not a kegger. End rant.

Anthony Davis = Glasses and lots of dealers
Harrison Barnes = Plastic cups and dealer shortage

We played 10/20 LH/O8 round by round.... game ran for about 6 hours starting at just after 6:30 and breaking around 12:30. We started off 3 handed, they gave us $1 rake for 5 or less players, $4 for 6, and $6 at 7 or more but no bbj drop, and the floor was cool enough to buy us pizzas. I thought they did a good job of promoting the game as a a number of players that joined us said they were walking around the other side of the room promoting it to each table. Nick, the floorman who got the game running and the pizzas said Jeremy really wants a mixed like that to become a staple in the room... I'll be back next Thursday at 6 to play for sure. I'm free to play Tues/Thurs/Fri/Sun so any other time that people want to try and make a game like that happen again count me in.
