Jack is nice. It's right downtown so there's plenty to do in the area. IDK where you're from but the players are tight compared to socal and Vegas.

I’ve played PLO there recently. The games are just as crazy as they have always been.

Rumors going around that the 2-5 is going to be changed from a 1k to a 500 cap. Thoughts?

I have not heard this rumor but if my memory serves me correctly they have changed the 2-5 buyin multiple times over the years so this would not surprise me if they were changing it again.

What if they changed the 1/3 buy in to 500 max?

I do think if 2/5 went to 500 max there would at least be 1 game going at all times probably so I think it would be interesting for sure

I doubt the casino is gonna cater the games to the regs so a 1/3 with a 300 cap and a 2/5 with a 500 cap seems like something they will do. Or maybe go back to a 1/2 game. Who knows, buckle in and adapt. All you can do. They care about filling tables and maximizing rake, they don't care about improving players win rates.

I don’t think they will ever go back to 1/2 due to 1/3 being way more profitable as In the pots get much bigger which means more rake

Played here last night 1-3 NL holdem.

Players were bad but not terrible. 1 guy calling each and every hand and betting round. A pure ATM machine. A couple of tighter players.

The tables are of an enormous size. The dealers couldn’t reach the blinds. I had to push them forward. Lots of elbow space. Good dealers. All in all not a bad place to play.

It’s a $200-$600 buyin game. It’s a nice bridge between 1/3 and 2/5

FYI to anyone visiting, if you are PLO player the game here is incredible. I don't know many places around the country that has a game that is consistently running like this one (outside AC/Vegas). It's 10:30am on a Tuesday right now and a game is running. After work hours there is 3, sometimes 4 tables.

Its a 1/2 blinds 5 bring in. Peak hours every other hand is straddled so the game plays much bigger. 100-700 buy in (I think, it somewhere around there)

The rumor around the water cooler is that the poker room is no longer in existence. Hopefully they are just moving it and not permanently getting rid of it.

When I was there for MSPT there were rumors that it was beingoved to a different part of the casino, and that the old room was being converted to a sportsbook.

That seems more likely then just getting rid of it, but I haven't heard anything recently.

I wonder if its going by the escalators near the blackjack pit that was under construction. I do love the room having its own space upstairs, but I think rooms that are closer to the main floor usually get better action.

They’re taking this opportunity to get rid of poker altogether at the Jack. It’s a badly run room that has lost the casino lots of money.

I only visit when I’m in town for business so I usually only play there like 9-10 times a year. I’ve never really had any issues with the room other than they never seem to have enough dealers on staff.

It’s the only poker room in the area so I’d be shocked if it closed completely. You probably know better than me though.

It’s been poorly run since Ceasars pulled out and finished on their face. Take went up and promos are crap. No bad beat, etc. Just run poorly. Actually, the manager is from the Nautical charity poker which was a sh*t show. Explains why it’s gone downhill. Won’t be missed. Toledo is only like 90 minutes away.

The question was not asking you about your sources or how you got the information it was simply asking how the poker room is costing the casino money.

How much revenue would you say an average table pulls in? It’s around $125 per hour, give or take. Other games in those same spots would generate far more than that. It’s all about the money. Moreover, there are certain clientele the casino would like to not have that reduce the class of the poker room. The Jack casino has never been as profitable as it was projected to be. This is why Gilbert was able to sell all of his other properties with no problem, but no one would buy Cleveland. So, they’re trying to make it look better then it actually is to get rid of it. In other words, they’re putting lipstick in that pig.
