About the HORSE game, how were the players? What was the lineup? I cant imagine many people being interested in stud, stud8, razz so I am surprised to hear this game ran. Was it mostly "older" people?

And for buy ins, its limit so it doesnt matter. I would assume Harrahs has a 10BB min but who knows. You can probably sit with $100.

Went there for the first time to check it out last night around midnight. Place is bigger than I thought it would be. Maybe because of the multiple levels. It definitely looked nice and clean (for now) and everyone seemed pretty friendly for the most part.

The poker room was pretty decent, a bit tight squeezed but it manages to work. I don't know when the 10/25PLO started but it broke only after a couple hours of being there. My friend and I that went were hoping it was going to run for a long time but I guess not. The 9 seat was pretty bad and I doubt the good players wanted to play against each other when the 2 fish left.

As for the dealers, I don't know if I got bad luck but 3/4 dealers were pretty slow. That's my first time there though so maybe they are all like that and it's still the end of the first week and I know they need practice. We probably got barely double the hands in that you would at Nautica. It took over 10 mins to get my first two hands dealt due to dealer error. Not going to complain that much though, just give it time and hopefully next experience is quicker.

Overall it was pretty solid.

Can't remember if it was said, do they have auto-shufflers?

Yes. I've also seen dealers sitting and chatting with players with the cards in front of them for as long as it takes to shuffle.

Maybe that's changed, though, as it was second night.

Again, I only got to see the game from about 11a-midnight when the table broke, but there was 1 person under 30 at the table when 5-6 handed. The game got running pretty early in the day, and there was a steady waiting list of a few people most of the time (I compulsively check Bravo throughout the day to see what's running to try and find an excuse to head down there)

There was an interest list for 5/10 FLO8 for a while too but I don't know if it ever got off the ground. I keep hoping more Stud games will run, but I'd definitely play HORSE if it got going again.

Anyone else find it ridiculous that ALL casino dealers split tips. Will never force the ****ty dealers to get better or give the good dealers incentive to continue doing a good job.

Brendon, I've been saying that since the open. It's absurd. So if you get dealt the bad beat jackpot and win 6k, you give the dealer an extra couple hundred, it probably increases their pay by .50 for that day.

The terrible slowest dealer makes the same as the dealer who knows what they are doing and gets you the most hands per hour.

Jeremy said he'd look into it, but for the most part its Caesars policy on their out of state casinos.

Couldn't agree with you more!!

5/10 NL actually gets good dealers for the most part but im hesitant to tip them out as much for the simple reason that I know I'm not tipping them but I'm tipping the staff, which as a whole, I think needs a lot of work still.

I stood in the line to cash in my chips yesterday for literally 25 minutes. Staff needs lots of work...not just dealers!!

The one side of the room gets the better dealers for sure. I dont know if they try to keep the good dealers on the 2/5+ games or not but it seems that way.

I usually play on that side but Friday I played 2 hours at 1/2 and the dealers were WAY worse than the dealers on the other side. I havent found a bad dealer that dealt to me at 2/5 plo.

I went there for the first time, the dealers at the 1/2 (I would have played 2/5, but I didn't bring much cash) tables were pretty bad. I then switched to 1/2 plo, and besides one blond girl, the dealers were atrocious.

I'd have to say though, nice room. The dealers are friendly at least (which I like, no matter what people here say, poker is in general not super serious business). However, as a dude in a wheelchair, the columns in the middle of the room suck.

OK so now I at least know I didn't have bad luck with dealers - seems like most of them are still learning how to get a grip on the game. I've seen a couple pots the players controlled since the dealer went into lala land for some reason - i think he was watching an NBA game. And another time a dealer was close to peeling the river off before action ended on 4th, but some dude not in the pot caught it.

Just gotta give it time, or play higher

Keep in mind I've only been there once for like 2 1/2 hours. heh.

How many tier credits/hour playing 2/5?

I've heard it's the same as 1/2, but at most other Total Rewards casinos, it's 34/hour @ 2/5 vs 17/hour @ 1/2.

LOL Jeremy is probably lying to you unless it's Caesars' intent to tipshare for any new property with a poker room.

Ohio poker dealers can be allowed to keep their own tips.

As for other Caesars' properties, Harrah's St. Louis doesn't pool tips. For daily tourneys, the dealer chosen to deal the final table is chosen at random, and the dealers want to deal the final table for the crappy $60 tourney because they keep all the tips. I'm pretty certain Horseshoe Tunica does not tipshare either. Generally speaking, table games dealers pool tips, but most poker rooms let their dealers keep their own tips.

A lot of this has been mentioned already, but just to reiterate:

#1 Least favorite thing about Horseshoe- Chopped Tips (PLEASE tell me they MIGHT change this in the future, because I've heard absolutely no talk about it changing)
#2- Ridiculously low limits for all games, but particularly $1/$2 PLO and $2/$5 PLO (and I wish it was $1/$3 PLO)
#3- You can't order food to the tables- you have to go get it yourself
#3b- Absolutely no food at all after midnight- nothing's even open anywhere
#4- Not nearly enough chips in the racks (particularly for higher limit games)/really slow chip runners (also a result of slow cages)- this would all just be easier if you could buy from the dealer racks, and the chip runners just reloaded the racks...
#4b- The fact that others can't loan you chips while chip runners are getting them for you... so you have to "keep track" of people owing X amount to the pot- and particularly with slow chip runners, there's usually multiple pots to keep track of that they owe.
#5- $.25/hr comps (which I heard may be increased to $.50... whoopee...)
#6- Bad rake + BBJ for PLO (which wasn't even reset to a default $10k, but to $250- you'd lose more than that from the hand)
(#7- Button straddles/being able to run hands more than once would be nice, but not surprisingly unallowed)
(#8- Bad parking, but not much to do about that)

Everything else, like bad dealers, ridiculously slow cages, bad floor calls, etc. are bearable cuz they're to be expected for a new casino/will improve over time.... it's the terrible rules that won't change (for a while at least) that piss me off.

3rd floor poker room was also surprisingly not as annoying as I thought it'd be.

Last week I played 20 hours of $1/$2 PLO and I earned 340 tier credits and 2000 rewards credits, which equates to $20 in comps. so regardless of what the poker room staff tells you we are earning $1 per hour even though I heard them tell people it was 25 cents per hour.

the no food thing is pretty damn annoying.
ive had ppl give me chips while chip running was happening. they just marked it. but yeah the chip running is really slow and the dealers not allowed to sell chips out of their rack after you bust or w/e is dumb.

Yep, I posted this awhile back. That there is no way we could be only earning .25 an hour. I played a 7 hour session, and had more than enough for a cheeseburger.

BTW, I love that food isnt allowed in the room except at higher limits. It shouldn't be allowed at all.
It slows down the games, gets grease on the cards/chips, and is nasty to watch some Reg munch away at the table. If you want to eat, get out of your chair and walk to the food court or buffet.

All of the above is correct. Go on the dinner list if you need to eat. The Borgata works this way and it's great for everyone involved.

was there yesterday and the cage seemed a lot better. the previous times there was only one cashier working despite a super long line. this time there were 3 ppl working and i did not see a line develop at all.

it def seems like they keep the better dealers to higher games. 2 dealers were good, 1 was fast but made a few mistakes, the other 2 were slow but competent.

the rake is a joke tho. shorthanded should be damn near no rake as otherwise the game breaks, esp when there are a bunch of walkers and its prime time so they know the game will pick back up.
