2) Apparently they have BBJ promos that 'must' hit ... so on Sunday they were going to reduce the losing hand every so often until it hit. Was KKKxx or something Sunday at 11 AM.

3) Was surprised at how quickly it emptied out on a Sat night. The room lost more than half it's Players by Midnight. Possible there were some extras in there for the car drawing taking place, but that usually doesn't affect a poker room too much.
4) No issues with Dealers or Floors ... well run during my stay. VERY good communication without being too bothersome to the ongoing games with Dealers informing Floor's of Player's wishes or other things.

5) Wait staff was excellent. I don't do too much with them but it seemed like at least once per orbit a server was coming by.
6) On and off I-71 is about as easy as it gets for anywhere I've been ... even MCC in Detroit.

7) AWESOME 30 minutes of fireworks Sunday night over the Ohio River. It was non-stop 'finale' type of presentation with both OH/KY sides of the river packed. BUT traffic was not snarled up the way you might expect trying to get out.

Obv I'm not a reg, but I've never had issues in this room. From the regs in this thread I get the feel that it should be much more than it is for being in a city this size. Couple of regs that ended up on the 1/2 PLO later in the night were pretty negative and were gossiping back and forth. Until next time ... GL
The promo was a one time thing for the weekend with a $25K bad beat that was guaranteed to pay out by Sunday, so they kept reducing the qualifying hand that needed to be beaten.

I was also there Saturday evening and it did appear to empty out more than normal. Not really sure why that was. The floor and the dealers are generally good IMO, but there was a time when they had a bunch of new dealers that were not very good at all. Once some of those people got more experience though and the really bad ones didn't last it has been good for the past 9 months or so IMO.

Same thing goes with the cocktail waitresses. For the most part now it is all familiar faces and service is pretty good. It just felt like there was a time that they had a bunch of new people and that is when problems happen.

I mostly play on the weekends and some evenings during the week and I have not seen him. I know in his thread he talked about playing during the day alot during the week, so if he is on that schedule and playing in the room I doubt I will run across him.

Anyone have the info on getting the highest level for the new Hard Rock Wild Card? How many hours do I need to play poker to obtain?

Any date estimate for when the poker room will reopen?

There may not even be any tables in the poker room right now. A LOT of casinos have removed the poker tables so they can have more slots up and running during 'distancing' requirements are in place.

I've seen this in both Indiana and Michigan so far. CV19 'mandates' will require even more labor to be involved with poker than before ... and up front costs with plexi-glass.

My impression is that the Ohio Governor is somewhat stricter than Michigan's but they both have been very conservative when it comes to what they are releasing during these times. I believe that Michigan will NOT enter the next phase as it was scheduled to .. thus pushing things back. GL

They have a table in the poker room with the plexiglass setup they are trying to get 6 handed poker going; state isn't budging.

The excuses of "you have to touch cards" is invalid, as they are allowing that at table games like Ultimate Texas Hold'Em for example. Craps has people packed around it.

These type of posts do not bode well for the future of poker. Casinos have never been thrilled to have poker rooms. Now with this virus and social distancing, any casinos that were previously on the fence, have had time to evaluate that poker is a waste of space.

I'm Colorado, and saw a picture on here showing tables missing/and or rearranged in order to make more space for slots. I hope that I'm being overly negative here, but we'll just have to wait and see.

Not sure if this is allowed or not and not sure if anyone actually goes to this forum, but I am just leaving this here for anyone that wants to help out. Lisa, is a poker dealer in the room and is going through some health issues.

went in for a few hours just to check it out

rake structure is the same (1$ per 10 in the pot after the flop, up to 5$ max)

they're only taking 1$ instead of 2$ for the promo drop but the only promo they're running so far is quad jacks which is a joke, with no specific timeframe as to when they might start running realistic promos again

there's a cage in the poker room now, but they don't have it staffed yet

i laughed because i noticed the dealers are a little slow because they're all out of practice. i'm sure this will sort itself out pretty quick

they're really diligent about cleaning everything so that's cool

overall pretty much the same room. don't love 6 handed play but all things considered i'm pretty happy to see not much has changed

Thanks much! Nice to see the cage back! Hopefully better promos will be back soon - I actually like a BBJ b/c at least it's a 24/7 promo that can get exciting if it gets big enough.

Any more info on how the room is doing? I'll be in Cincy Thurs night and may check it out. How many tables and types of games are typically running on a Thurs night? Thanks.

Currently playing 8 handed with plexiglass and masks. I have not played on a Thursday since they reopened and only a few times during the week since they reopened, but haven't been on a weeknight since they went to 8 handed last week. My assumption is there will be 3-6 tables of 1/3 NL, 1-2 tables of 1/2 PLO, and maybe a 2/5 game or 5/5 PLO.

PLO used to run MWF with there always being bigger games on those nights, but not sure if that is still true. There is almost always a 1/2 PLO game running though. Always a handful of 1/3 NL games running and usually a 2/5 game, but not sure it runs every day or not right now as I believe there are still some people running home games that started up while everything was shut down and there is where a decent amount of the 2/5 action goes.

Check out bravo. I will start going back very soon. Looks like PLO daily and 3-6 1/3 NL games most evenings. 8 handed with plexiglass and masks. I hear the action is pretty much the same as before... pretty good.

Played a couple days last week. 1/3 NL. Overall, decent action. Floor is very good about filling seats quickly. Plexiglass and masks (except for few who will never comply) are still in place. I like the 8-max seating and hope they maintain this going forward.

Tourney had 130 on Jun 5, and 148 on June 12. Players are much friendly than pre-covid IMO. Folks asked about getting higher buy-in tourneys, but dealers/floor explained they are having a hard time hiring dealers.

No masks or plexi since at least Jun 5.

I'm getting back to playing post-COVID and now find myself near Cincinnati. Do any games show up at the Hard Rock besides small-to-mid NLHE and PLO? I've been watching Bravo for a few days and that seems to be almost all of it.

I have been looking for motivation to actually get decent at NLHE though so "lack of anything else that won't trash my bankroll" is good motivation.

Heads up that the room has increased rake. Prior to COVID it was 5+2. Now they are doing 6+2 for 1-3 and 2-5 NL. PLO and time raked games seem unchanged…. For now.
