Thanks! Now I just have to worry about chip theft, I suppose.

If the rake at Jack Cinci is 5+2, how much worse is the Harrah's Cherokee rake? I may be playing 2-5 at both in the next couple of weeks, but wasn't sure what their rakes were.

Rake at Cherokee is 10% up to $7. There is no promo drop, so $7+0.

Went there for the 1st time since they completely got rid of the dedicated cage for poker recently. Holy crap is that brutal.

Agreed, it sucks. This casino won't be any good again until they sell it to a different owner, preferably with ties to Vegas. Wish Caesar's would buy it back, but would gladly take MGM or Stations.

Yes, unfortunately IMO Jack Gaming has pulled back the reigns on their initial plans for all their casinos. It's been reported/rumored that Dan Gilbert (Quicken Loans) wants to purchase a MLB team and would probably have to separate his ties to his gaming businesses in order to do so ... so why dump cash into the properties if someone else is just going to change things anyway? They've basically done nothing at Geektown Casino in Detroit either, which was supposed to be part of the Jack group. GL

Agree about the cage. If you go with any regularity it is best to just keep your chips for your next session. I do this and just cash out excess chips in my pocket if I walk by the cage on a break and there is no line.

What is the baby bad beat runoff? What is the minimum qualifier?

Not really sure if anyone who works at JACK monitors this. But, if someone could forward to whomever makes decisions, it would be great.

I have played in lots of card rooms around the country. Lots. Bad and good.

I have seen good policies, and bad. Standard and unique.

JACK's very unique policy of not reducing rake "during promotions" has to be a first. It has led to many 2-5 games breaking that used to flourish during the week. And annoying the players beyond belief.

Great decision to the staff! Instead of getting what used to be I think $3 when 4 handed, now you get nothing but pissed off customers who will leave as soon as we get less than 6. LOL!

That's really strange. I have never heard of that one before.

Jack Cleveland sucks as well. The poker room manager is a punk and those under him are too. Iíve taken to driving two hours to Columbus to play.

I believe that your ban forces you to do that.

No ban. Just prefer Columbus. Nicer room. Kinder, more gentle, staff.

I know they have a policy of having to get approval for reduced rake, but was not aware of them not reducing it during promos. I only play 1/3 though, which doesn't have too many short handed games as most people complain and ask to break the table (due to not wanting to play short handed, not due to rake).

Is this partially to blame for them only getting 1 game of 2/5 running recently?

2-5 is dying for forces not really in their control. More people have gone to PLO, and the other to 1-3. There have been a lot of people who used to prop up the 2-5 economy who simply don’t even play any more.

The rest of the 2-5 regs are thoroughly annoyed at the absurd rake policies. A majority of them have been around poker a long time. Paying $6 in total take while four handed is absurd. And this “no reduced during promos” policy is even worse.

They should allow cheaper rake at 2-5+ and/or just stop taking the promo drop and make 2-5s not eligible for the promos. Almost no one playing 2-5 cares about the promos.
