So after reading all of this I am confused on what the actual prizepool is. Are events 1,2 and 3 just $20k GTD's with 15k worth of seats? Or are they $35k's with 15k worth of seats. Also taking rake for the seats they giveaway out of the promotional funds is a joke, but that horse has been beaten enough.

While I do agree that 200 isn't the optimal cap on 1/2, I am not sure where this "waiting to cooler eachother" idea is coming from. It's still 100bb poker with plenty of play to push your edges, and plenty of bad regs to exploit whatever tendancies they may have. It does sometimes happen that you get a table full of old nits, and if you can't get them to open up then a table change should do the trick.
