I only checked the last 2 pages to see if this was mentioned (it wasn't) but all Horseshoe Cincinnati Casino chips must be cashed in by September 6 2016 (1 month from now). After that date they will be worthless (or just collector's items).

He posted this in all the Ohio casino/club threads because it sounds like the dude has left the Cleveland area and could be elsewhere in Ohio. Might want to post in WVa or Pittsburgh area casinos/clubs too.

He was found last night or this morning alive by the Mason Police Department (just north of Cincinnati). Hopefully he gets the help he needs.

Almost 3 weeks away from Labor Day weekend and still no schedule. Does the staff here really hate money that bad? The turnout is going to be pathetic due to the lack of marketing and time for people to adjust schedules.

Cincinnati tournaments get terrible turnouts anyway. I never really get why. Too much competition maybe

Kinda surprised they are doing a 1.5K main. Without them giving away any seats for dead money it's going to be hard to entice local players to shell out $1500. The $400 tournaments get between 120-150 players now, so I cannot imagine this tournament getting that much more than that with the short notice and player pool. They would have to have a pretty nice guarantee to see some numbers.

Labor Day Deepstack structure sheets should be available early next week. It does appear to be the usual structure for this series at first glance with 30 minute levels for most tourneys except for the turbo which is 20 minute levels and the Main Event which is 40 minute levels.

Also regarding September promos, there is the Fall Festival Of Cash Hot Seat.

I am not able to post the complete rule sheets yet, but when I am allowed to, I will do so.

The below info comes directly from the promo sheets, but it is not official as of right now, but will be soon. If there are questions, please ask, as I did slighty abbreviate the info i was given.

Tuesdays and Thursdays in September starting Tuesday Sep, 6, and ending Thursday Sep. 9.

Six times a day a random table and seat will be drawn from all eligible players. The eligible player that is drawn will receive $500. All other players at that table will receive $100 and all other players in that seat at all promo eligible games will receive $100 dollars. Drawing times will be 2AM, 8AM, 11AM, 5PM, 8PM, 11PM, the days the promo is offered.

All payouts will be on a poker tournament payout slip that can be exchanged at the cage for chips or cash.
Games that are eligible are promo games that have four or more eligible players dealt in.
-Limit Holdem games 10/20 or lower
-NL Holdem games 5/5 or lower

To qualify, you must have played at least one hour of poker on the day of the promo and currently not missed any blinds. You must be physically at your seat to participate.

Players receiving a table share or seat share do not have to have the required amount of time to receive the share.

Must show proper i.d. and players card to get the payout. if you do cannot provide i.d. and at that time, the ticket will be kept in the main cage for any player who cannot immediately provide i.d.

Poker promotions are funded by the promo fund. If for some reason the fund cannot cover this promo, the casino will cover the expense of the promotion.

10K Super High Hand Promo, Sundays In September, October and November starting on Sept 11 through Nov 27

Qualifying will start at 12:30pm and run till 10:30pm and every 30 minutes the high hand in the room will win $500.

High hands will be paid out at the top and bottom of the hour for the prior hour.

Aces full of deuces is minium hand to qualify.

Hands do not need to play to showdown to qualify, but player is responsible for tabling their hands and it must be verified by a poker room supervisor.

Kickers and suits do not break a tie. If the exact same hand is hit for the half hour, players will split $500.

The $500 will rollover to the next half hour if no qualifying high hand hits in that half hour.

Must have four or more players dealt in, $10 in the pot.

Same rules apply as the Fall Festival promotion above as far as getting the payout on a tournament ticket and how to proceed if you do not have i.d. on you.

Will the labor day ME have antes before 100-400-800?

Antes start at 500/1000, 100 ante

Wow. Why are they doing that? What's the logic for delaying antes as opposed to keeping levels like 50-250-500? Having no antes encourages tight play.

Was in town for a wedding this past weekend. Played a late-night Friday/early Saturday session for 5-6 hours at 1/2plo. Even though I lost a couple hundred, the game was very, very good. The highlight was two regs getting 1k in on the turn (~120 in pot) on a AhTh5x9x board. Both had 9Txx with no redraw. I'm sure there was a good amount of history, but I was still a bit dumbfounded.

apparently they are giving away seats to the main event from the tourneys leading up that is coming out of the prize pool

super ******ed

so they get to rake the tournament, "add"money to the prize pool which directly goes to pay the main event seats (an angleshoot around the law afaik), then also rake the seats at the main event, while using the added prize pool money to drive additional entries and get more rake on the initial buyins, which is all driven from player promo funds!

casinos are the scummiest

lol and the 300 are 240+60 while the 50k guar normally is 350+50

i'm sure they have no clue what they're doing

Wait what do you mean the seats are coming from the prize pool? You mean that it's not the promo fund and they are giving away seats based on the 500k prize pool guarantee? So it's really 500k - X where X = total dollar amount of seats given away?

I mean the concept of the promo fund is absolutely stupid anyway. They steal money from winning pots and in return try to bring more people into the room to play by giving the non-regs the opportunity to win prizes despite how little they've contributed to the fund. The biggest example of this I can think of is when they gave away 10k wsop main event seats and people from Chicago ended up winning 2 of them.

I'd personally prefer if they got rid of the promo fund all together, but if they can't/ won't do that at least bring back the bad beat that keeps the room buzzing. These promos as of late are ass.

the 300 nl holdem for example is a 240+60 with a 35k guarantee and 15k "added" and awards 10 seats to the 500k guarantee to the top ten, but this money comes out of the prizepool, so the 15k added is effectively just for the 10 $1500 seats

so if there were 200 entrants it would be 240*200+15000 prizepool but the 15000 is really ten seats to the 500k guaranteed

the 500k is apparently only a 1350+150 at least

Correct, what was explained to me is the OCCC prevents vouchers from being given out but this is a total angle around the rule by adding the seats and using promo money to cover.

This loophole will get closed and they will find something else

I think the promos have sucked because they are worried about covering that $500k. If there is plenty of money left over, I'm sure they will get better.

Overall though I have seen traffic way down in the casino since JACK has taken over. It's only a matter of time before this trickles down to the poker room. It was a good run, boys.

This room seriously doesnt even have a legitimate room manager to get out and mingle with the players, hear their suggestions, field their questions, and try to fight for players with the higher ups.
