I will not be attending this casino ever again, they went from classy to trashy real fast. From the poker room all the way to the way they treat their Diamond members.

How are they treating Diamond members? I should get Diamond later this year, just wondering what your concerns are. Thanks!

The offers and perks took a drastic fall from last year, likely due to the bankruptcy issue. Ofcourse they claimed that the bankruptcy would have ZERO effect on the TR front....in short....they lied. As a Diamond member I was getting rooms when needed, 1k+ a month in free play and 2 free buffets every month. Now? About $150 a month in free play, no rooms and one buffet.

Article above likely explains why...Ceasers wanted out and got out, and we will suffer.

Sad when I would rather go to a GD Hollywood property.

My co-worker and I are both Diamond. I play some table games and poker, he plays craps and slots. I've been relegated to $10 slot play once a week and nothing else for the last 4-5 months. He's getting something like $115 table play twice a week, buffets, free rooms, slot tournaments, gifts, etc.

I was one of the first people to earn Diamond strictly from playing at Cincinnati. Earned it the 3rd week they were open, actually (I know I wasn't the first person, though). The Diamond Lounge used to be virtually empty back in those days. I was getting $75+ in free play twice a week, 1 buffet per week, gifts, free rooms, etc. My play dropped off and the perks did too. Oh well...

Guys, things like free slot play, etc, aren't given because of your card status, but because of your play. The play that got you to Diamond is what inflated your offers. If your play dropped off once you got your Diamond card, your offers were going too as well. This is how virtually all casinos operate.

Obviously true, but I believe the perks/free play etc for Cincinnati has been on the decline across the board, even for player with the same or increased play. I think it's more because when the casino was new 2 years ago they were offering more/better benefits to attract players.

I have noticed that the poker room is ran down. Why don't they take card of it?

Hwood Indiana, when they kept the room downstairs, did a nice job maintaining the tables and the room nicely and neat.

IMO - I would replace the tables rails and either steam clean them or replace them routinely.

Ppl would notice that and appreciate it.

What a bunch of nits in this thread. WAAAHHHH!! You don't give me freebies anymore because I don't gamble as much. BOOHOO!! There's tape on a table!! AAARRRGGGHHH!! They banned a racist 2-5 player.

FFS guys, our room is probably the best one in the Midwest/Central part of the country. We get OUTSTANDING PLO action every day of the week. Last night there were 9 2/5 NL games going. The action is great here. The service is friendly and capable. If you dont like it GTFO and go to Indiana.

Wait what? There were 9 2-5 games going? Why did that happen? Was there something going on?

2-5 in Cinncy plays like the 1-2 in Cbus, and the 10-25 PLO n Cbus is a huge game...players coming away with 40-50gs and in. One case much more. Without tournaments like the one they cancelled...that casino is nothing more than Argosy2.0

On Saturday there were indeed 9 2/5 games going. I think it was a combination of people getting sick of playing 1/2 (there were 3 guys at my must move table trying out the game) and general increased traffic. I just get sick of people nitpicking and bitching when the room overall is pretty damn good.

This article gives a little more insight. Looks like we have seen our last WSOP event in Ohio.

That link is interesting.
I talked with one of the tournament directors last night during the WSOP circuit in St Louis and asked if he knew why Cincinnati was canceled. He gave me the political "scheduling issues" but I could tell he knew more and could not say. I then went on to ask if this meant that Cincinnati would never get a circuit again as most people figure that if the casino were ever going to upgrade the surveillance that it would have been sooner rather than later. He responded "No. They're actually planning to be on the schedule next year." I asked if they were going to plan to have the event around Hammond/ Southern Indiana again and he told me that they wouldn't have it around that time again due to the Cincinnati Oktoberfest really affecting turnouts.

So it seems this will need to be resolved before March 2016 in order for the circuit to come back. Everyone really liked the circuit stop here, so I cannot imagine that they won't try to get it back between now and then.

Very interesting. This quote bothers me:
"Seth Palansky, of the WSOP, is very direct in his frustration with both the unavoidable insult that this cancellation has caused for the regions players and the simple fact that the coverage being offered for this event is “comparable” to what the WSOP (C) uses in 20 Countries around the world and $400 Million in buy-ins. In a public conversation on twitter, he commented that he did not see how the WSOP Circuit will ever return to Ohio."

It seems a little short sighted on Caesars part when it would appear that Hollywood casinos have no trouble meeting this criteria.(I realize they have to police a smaller area; but they also gross less $$).
Also, in light of what has happened at other events I would think Caesars would embrace meeting stringent guidelines.

It seems to me they just don't want to spend the money. Short sighted considering the WSOP is a money maker and they are otherwise drowning in debt from bad decisions. I hope Ohio sticks to its regulations.

I think they should upgrade the tables & chairs. And run 6/12 O8 everyday.

You realize how expensive it would be to install a whole new camera/monitoring system in the ballroom?? If the camera coverage is good enough for every other state it should be good enough for Ohio. Hopefully they change the regs for next year.

Probably one circuit event worth of revenue

You are probably way off on that and revenue does not equal profit. Redoing their whole camera systems in a large ballroom is a big project.

A circuit event of a decent size probably brings in around 200k in revenue from tournaments alone. Add in the added cash game revenues as well compared to normal business. Dealers get paid approximately $5 an hour from the casino and the rest is made on tips/staffing fees.

I know nothing about surveillance system costs but is this really more than a quarter of a mill?

I was more surprised that Horseshoe Cincinnati didn't even try to accommodate by making room on the bottom floor and setting up a circuit area in place of slot machines for the 12 days. They could have tried to compromise by using the poker room and the slot machine area right outside of the poker room temporarily in order to prevent a full cancellation 4 weeks prior. Other circuit stops, such as Southern Indiana and Lumiere St Louis, use the main casino floor/ poker room to run the circuit. I think Cincinnati should have tried to do something similar in order to prevent a cancellation and bring doubt to the minds of traveling players that had plans to go to this event.

I understand that the slots are huge money-makers for the casino, but this is a decently sized 12 day event that helps promote the WSOP brand. I would like to think that the casino would have tried to do everything in its power to keep the event going.

Look I'm with the OCCC on this. Surveillance should be able to see the table. The players, the action, and the chips.

When someone pilfers chips walking by a table or there is dispute that costs you a tournament then tell me how over regulated you are.

Billion dollar casino can't afford some extra cameras and hard drives for video..... Waaaaa...

How can you be with an organization that has far stricter rules than ANYONE else out there. Not saying it's all there fault, but come on. They've had casinos for what? 4 years?

The occc does not know what it's doing. It's basically some political appointees following some rules given to them. They just interpret the rules pretty crazy sometimes like not letting waitresses take tips in chips when the place first opened and not comprising on the cleveland circuit event.

Every other state in the country can somehow manage to have big tournaments it's crazy Ohio cant.
