I'm surprised Hollywood is doing as well as they are. They actually had 12 tables running last night. Once the Horseshoe opened I figured they'd only get 2 or 3 tables during the week and 5 or 6 on the weekends, but they're beating that so far. Of course they're running four different cash game promotions plus their tournament leaderboard bonus thing as of right now. I wonder how long they're going to be able to sustain that - it's hard to imagine the 40 cents they take out of the bad beat drop for promotions is really covering all of that.

I played a HW yesterday for just that reason, and the $93k BBJ after (no luck), they actually had a good crowd. But the tournament rake "are you kidding me" 27.3% on a $100 buy-in, that's ****ing crazy!

Memo to Horseshoe, keep the rake reasonable on your tournaments!
27%?? Good lord! Hopefully Horseshoe will realize that their volume should be big enough that the rakes on tourneys don't need to be that high. But I have a feeling that with as many cash games as they've had going on lately that shutting those down to run tournaments is going to hurt their profit. It's probably going to have to be a high rake to balance things out.

So is anyone planning on playing any of the WSOP events they're going to run in September?

It's a Holiday weekend. The past weeks tables have been half of that unless it was during the Hollywood Open Tournament last month. Was there a couple Fridays ago and they only had 5 tables.

I plan on playing in at least 2 of the side events hopefully 3 and depending on how I do I might play the main as well

6/12 LO8 played Saturday night and Sunday night this weekend. Other than myself there were all different players between the two nights, probably ~20 total (I got into it late/halfway Saturday night, played literally 100% of the hands Sunday... 7 hour iron bladder). Sunday was particularly enjoyable, half the players seemed to know each other and things were pretty casual and friendly (plus it was soft).

I've played this before too, I think it runs on the weekends late at night occasionally, if not regularly.

Does anyone know when Total Rewards credits are posted to your account? I've probably played about 40 hours of poker so far but my rewards credit still shows 0 on the Total Rewards website. The website says that table games are credited to your account "as soon as the session closes". I'm wondering if the poker room is different. And I just want to make sure it's working.

It's been working fine for me so far. They don't show up instantly on the website but they're usually there by noon of the next day. I've never seen it take longer than two days.

Yeah, something is wrong. Like the other poster said, it never takes more than two days. You should check with them at the rewards counter and see what's going on.

Thanks for the responses. I'll see if I can figure out what the deal is then. It didn't seem right at all.

The rake is extremely high, but so far it's still been worth it to me. I've put in 18 hours so far and made $250. That's only $13-$14 an hour but for someone like me that's a nice way to build a bankroll. If you're even an average player there isn't much risk in that game. The majority of the flops are 3-5 players. It's a good way to sharpen my skills, build a bankroll and gives me the opportunity to still play poker while I'm reading a few no limit books. My goal is to eventually just play no limit.

Yea. Stop wasting your time at 3-6. Build up a $2k roll at a job somehow and then play 1-2.

The NL games are fairly soft there. I think that's being kind too.

Yeah I have the Bravo app I meant are the games basically just full of regs? or is it worth going to play during the day?

I would say usually 3-5 players at each table are "regs"...sometimes more. The games are slower than the night games in general but I wouldn't say they are any tougher. There is more predictable ABC play.

You can get on some tables where it will be slow and hard to get much action unless there are a couple big hands but there are enough tables running all the time that you can find a better table if its that bad.

Don't take the 1-2 NLH games too seriously as far as building a bankroll. Rake is tough, normal variance is enhanced by simply outrageous play by some folks. Pots are usually small. People come and go so quickly that serious reads are difficult to get. So Play as well and often as you can, avoid coolers and suckouts (good luck with that), have fun and luckbox a session or two hopefully. Low stakes games are hard to beat, unless you are very good and somewhat lucky. It's not impossible for some folks!

There is no luck in poker!

1/2 can be beatable--if your making 15/hr over large sample size, your doing good.

I'm looking to get a larger limit game going this Friday and want to try to round up interest. Any appetite for a 10/20 game? I'm bringing two players. I think we can get this off the ground.

6/12 would be ok as well. I know the Omaha game is regular, but want to get a holdem game going.

I will be there this weekend. I am planning on going to at least one of the Reds' games.

My plan is to park at Horseshoe, possibly play before the game, walk to the game, then walk back afterwards and play more.

Does this sound sound feasible/safe? Or is there some type of shuttle/trolley that would be a better option?
