Will they likely have a scad of sats for the WSOP Circuit like Hollywood used to have for the WPT stops? Probably a list much later at the end of summer soonest?

Checked it out last night. The staff there was very nice. I played a little 3/6 limit & some 1-2 no limit. Both games were very soft. 3/6 limit required almost no strategy. Just play the hands you want to get called on and you'll make money. Tons of calling stations at the table.

I didn't have a players card & refused to stand in line for an hour to get one. When I sat down at the table the dealer asked why I didn't have one. I told him why & one of the chip runners came to the table, took my ID and got one for me.

The only suck part of the night was the parking. It took me 30 minutes to find a spot once I got there. A little tip... if you see that the signs show levels are full, GO TO THOSE LEVELS. It's much less of a fight to find that one open spot. The boards aren't as updated as quickly as you would think.

Overall, I loved this poker room. Very nice atmosphere & very friendly staff. Weekend games will likely be easy pickins.

We have an extremely dependable core group of PLO players here. I'm very confident we'll have 3-5 tables of PLO on Wednesday and Fridays for the foreseeable future. The change I'll think you'll see, which is already starting to happen, is people dropping down from 5/10 to the smaller 5/5 and 1/2 games. When they first opened you might get 3 5/10's, 1 5/5, and 1 1/2. This past Friday we had 1 5/10, 2 5/5's, and 1 1/2. I think some of that just has to do with this being a slower time of the year and some of the regs being out of town. June is usually the slowest month of the year due to the nice weather, people going on vacation, people going to Vegas for the series, etc. For the next couple months I imagine you'll see 1 or 2 5/10's and 2 or 3 of the smaller games Wednesdays and Fridays. We also get at least one 5/5 or 1/2 most other days.

As for the skill level of the recreational players, it's a wide range as you'd expect. Some are solid, some are mediocre, some are bad and at least a couple are very bad. If it was just grinders passing chips back and forth we wouldn't have upwards of five tables running twice a week. It's definitely worth checking out, we've already had quite a few players from Columbus come down.

Thinking about heading down there today. Can anyone give some insight to what the 1-2 games are like during the day mid week. Only other time I have been there is a Friday night and there were tons of fish. Do the games during the day have the same 6 regs at a table or is there still easy money there?

I did end up going. Played 3-6 limit since I went with my brother in law who has only played in home games. Tripled my money in about 4 hours. It is amazing how people give money away the 2 times I have been here.

I am thinking of coming down this weekend for the first time... Do they ever run or at least take a list for HORSE or other mixed games?

I'm also curious if Stud or Stud Hi/Lo has run lately? Thanks.

No. I mean they'll start a list for anything but no mixed game has ever gotten off.

As for stud, hi lo has never run. They did get a 10-20 stud off once but it only lasted two hours and never ran again.

20-40 list has been getting 4-6 names. I think it'd go on a Friday. You can really draw some players from surrounding areas if you go 20-40.

Cool thanks for the tip, will probably give it a try tonight. Do you mean that Stud has a decent chance of going, or were you referring to HORSE or Stud H/L? Will they run short-handed (4ish) if everyone is willing to start?

Any stud players out there, come on down this evening... I should be getting there around 6:00pm and will try to get a list going. Also I'm horrendous!

Played 3/6 limit for about 3 hours & made $120. It's a pretty easy game. The lady to my right played almost every hand. I've not played live much but it seems like its the equivalent of the 0.50/1.00 games online. People want to see as many flops as possible. It's definately a stress free game.

One of the dealers that came to my table said he was in his bosses office earlier in the day & they were discussing the tournament schedule. Apparently their chips came in earlier this week. The tournament schedule is ready to go & I was told it will start next month by the dealer. They're just waiting for approval. Hopefully they get it in time to start next month.

And I was the guy at the table wearing the Cardinals hat if anyone else was there.

Well when they get Tournaments up ( if they are well done and I can't imagine why not?) that will really be another big blow to Hollywoods room I suppose! We will see.

I really don't want it to shut Hollywood down to the point that it's a dead card room. I would like to at least see some competition between the two rooms though.

First or second week they opened I was in a 6/12 O8 game that turned into a 4/8 HORSE then switched to 6/12 OE. Think they got some type of mix the following night going then I've never seen anything since.

Absolutely! As only a rec player I hope both can prosper. That would only be good for the vast majority of players. But I guess that is mostly in the hands of Hollywoods management. So far as good as Horseshoes room is , it has not destroyed Hollywood yet. I am concerned that the tournament factor has been the real reason and that may change. Monopoly is usually not best at anything!

It would be nice for both rooms compete, but with some of the decisions Hollywood has made in the past year, I don't know. Like Bene said tournaments are a big reason HW has survived the initial Shoe startup. HW has a nice tourney schedule, with the 2, 10k's, and lower to mid priced buy-ins. I played a HW yesterday for just that reason, and the $93k BBJ after (no luck), they actually had a good crowd. But the tournament rake "are you kidding me" 27.3% on a $100 buy-in, that's ****ing crazy!

Memo to Horseshoe, keep the rake reasonable on your tournaments!
