What are you looking to play?

1/2 and maybe 2/5 NL

I mainly play PLO so I can't really comment on the quality of the NL games. I do watch Bravo pretty closely and can tell you that there are usually 4-6 1/2 NL games on during weekdays and 1 or 2 2/5 NL. Since you're from Louisville I assume you're familiar with HSI which generally has fewer 1/2 games and rarely spreads 2/5 at all during the week. If you're only going to play 1/2 and looking at this strictly from an EV perspective, I'm not sure the additional tables and potentially softer games make the extra travel time and gas worth it. On the other hand if you're in the mood for a little road trip and the chance to play somewhere new (and the option of playing 2/5), I'd say it's definitely worth checking out.

It is worth your time to see and play the room one time, whatever your game choice is. And BTW your game choice is more likely to be spread here (and more often) than most of the other rooms in the region!

Before I make the 3 hour trip tomorrow, can you guys confirm if the 5/10 plo game goes every Weds? Also, if so, what time does it start?

It will go.

It will go 100%. It usually starts around 11 am. There will be a second table by mid afternoon and usually a third by early evening.

I was very excited when this place ran the 6/12 limit hold em game almost every day the first week or two, but now it appears it doesn't go at all anymore. Even when it went I remember many of the players really wanted to play the 6/12 O8 game, which appears to still go regularly.
I have not been able to make there for a month or so, but I'd really like to play the 6/12 LHE game again. Is there any interest at all in this game? If so let's set a night to get this game to run.

But if not, I'm gonna have to bone up on the limit O8 game...can anyone recommend good reading/study material on that game?

I would like to play 6/12 limit if it can get going. I used to enjoy 5/10 limit at the old Grand Vic a few years back...It can be a good game..better than 3/6 by a good margin.

Yes, I used to play in that game at Grand Vic, and I've since played a lot of the 3/6 games at all the area casinos...I'm sure I've played with you in some of these games..

What would be the best time to get this game going, either Friday or Saturday night I would think.

Either of those would be good for me. I would think it could get going...just gotta get some regulars or semi regulars and perhaps it can grow. I imagine I have seen you around then if you played at Grand Vic and around the area. Perhaps I will see you around. I will be there Saturday and possibly Friday even this week....Im gonna try to wear my Reefer Poker hat if it will fit on my fat head( hat is a medium but I could use a large) but will make it easy to identify me.

I was at table that hit it at 9PM on Saturday, in fact I hit ace of spades and got $500. I think it is a great promo now!!!

I'd be in for a 6/12 limit game on Friday night. Pick a time after 4 and I'm there.

Ok..I'll likely be there in the late afternoon myself, and I'll start a list and hopefully by 7, if not earlier, we can get the game off the ground. So I'd say 7 PM is a good time to shoot for.

I never saw it go. I remember looking at the list at around 7 on Friday and there were only two names.

Nope...As I said I would I started a list in mid-afternoon, expecting that at least the two posters on here who said they were interested would be adding their names later in the day, but neither of them did. I was there all night and only two names were ever on the list.
That's the problem with trying to start a game...even guys who say they are interested aren't interested enough to show up when they said they would.
How they can get 3 or more 3/6 games and no more than two people interested in 6/12 is beyond me...don't these people know that the rake is killing us in 3/6?

Tom I know you are a regular PLO player, and probably know a lot about O8 as well, so hopefully you can guide me here....

Since a higher limit hold em game doesn't appear possible, and as one of the better LHE players in the room in my humble opinion, I'm considering jumping into the 6/12 O8 game that goes regularly, but I don't want to be a complete fish when I do so. I've played a limited amount of Omaha, and even less in split-pot games, but I'm wondering how steep my learning curve would be to become proficient in that game if I'm coming into it as a very solid LHE player?
Curious as to what your thoughts would be on that...thanks.
