9. Cupholders are cut for 10 though.

I think he has already. I hope they're gone from the room permanently.

I agree that they would have been so easily confused w/blackbirds by someone, it was going to get ugly, and (as scrila pointed out) probably already has.

Pink 2.5s and 0.5 mustards would have been a better choice. I can't imagine the conversations that went into the choice to have those chips. Someone had some sense, you gotta' think. And got shot down, but why?

EDIT: a lighter shade of blue would have made a heck of a lot more sense. Powder blue would work, for instance. Bad, bad choice in chips. Anyone want to photo them (from 4' away) for comparison so folks know what they're looking at/for? There are different splotches (notches) on them, but without experience or examination, they are practically the same chip.

How about reading the rules the OCCC set up for a start...

Reason would suggest that a vet poker room manager would have done so, no?

Someone along the line? Middle poker room, cage manager, someone?

Really is a head-scratch move, when you consider the thoughts (oh, wow, that looks black) that may have occurred to anyone with any experience.

It's a pretty minor issue in the grand scheme of things. I've been very impressed with the management and floor guys so far. They know what they're doing and the room is run very well. They all have good attitudes too. It seems like in a lot of rooms there's always at least one or two guys on power trips who think you're there for them instead of them being there for you. So far I haven't run into anyone like that.

The dealers are still all over the map as far as experience, but the floor guys have been great, and the podium friendly. They remember the games you've played in the past and are open to suggestions and ideas. Today walking up the floor knew what I wanted, got me to a seat, and let me know about the run down on the Omaha stuff that was running. Pretty well run as far as I'm concerned.

Sometimes no news is good news. Threads like this tend to get the most traffic when things are going wrong.

I've only been here a couple of times, but I couldn't agree more with your comments (including the relative importance of the $2s, just a head-scratcher). I keep hearing that they put a premium on "friendly" when hiring, and it shows. The staff seems to actually like each other, their jobs and their customers, making it a very pleasant place to play.

Also, the death of the $2 chips has been greatly exaggerated. They're using them on the 6/12 O8 game. That's the only table. I guess it wasn't an OCCC issue after all.

Makes sense in this game. It would be nice if redbirds also played in this game (with the kill), but it's not that big of a deal.

Very impressed with how the room is being run. I walked in, got walked to my seat, dealer gave me chips and instant start to the poker time. I dont know that I have ever seen anyone walked to a seat at Hollywood at least not anytime recently. As others have said, I found the staff very friendly and it seemed like they were in sync. I know some people have had concerns about where the casino is located, but I found that there is a reasonable police presence in and around the casino. I also should say that they had people whos only job seemed to be going around and getting the poker room players a Total Rewards Card. Up until the young lady with the Ipad left, drink service was very good. It looked like after that maybe 7 or so, the drinks orders were done strictly by the waitresses but still seemed to be running smoothly. Room was maybe half full, but they seemed to have way more dealers than they needed as a few were running chips.

As others have said its really hard to find things to complain about other than the $6 rake _ friendly staff , the dealers for being new r doing a good job , I did see one Hollywood reg lose it over a dealer mucking his hand , he also found numerous other things 2 bitch about - however it's to be expected , guys who bitch - well they bitch ,and they will always bitch

Just a pet peeve of mine , but I don't like that they will you chips out of the rack - it just slows the game down , and chip runners , get ur ass up and walk to the cage yourself , my god , watched a guy rebuy 5 times 2night - playing behind constantly , if u bust ur stack or need more chips , walk ur ass to the cage

Disagree with bottom statement, let the fish rebuy at the table or give him time to think on the way to the cage and then decides to go home.

It's not about being lazy, it's about there usually being too long a wait at the cage and players already in a game don't want to deal with that. Rebuy much quicker at the table better for all.

I have noticed many people get angry when people buy from table, they say their time is being wasted. I don't really mind it, especially if the fish needs to keep re-buying. I remember many instances at Hollywood where the fish said he would be back and never did; since you can only buy from the cage there.

But I like how the room is ran.

Are they giving additional tier credit based on size of game you are playing , or is it a flat 17 tier credits per hour ?

Pretty sick -- wish I lived a little closer to Cinci. What's the ave stack in these games? I'm guessing it varies tremendously but could I play legit w/ a $2k stack in most Cinci 5/10 games?

It varies as you'd expect. Probably 3k at my table. 2k is the cap.

Thinking of heading down Friday. Want to get there early enough so I don't have to wait or wait long to play 1-2 NL, but don't want to get there to early to so that the fish haven't arrived yet. Would 5:30 or so work out for me?

5:30 is fine poker wise, you might hit some rush hour traffic getting there though. As long as you're there by 8 you shouldn't have much of a wait.

shipped Diamond in a Day yesterday. I was the first to do it in Cincy. I was up through 3k points so it really sucks they changed it to 5k tier points in a day since I lost $1700 at the end. Hopefully they'll have some good food in the Diamond Lounge soon and my room rates get a bit better if I do head to Rio any this summer. Was pretty fun actually, I sort of like Video Poker
