You guys may find it interesting that on their employment website, L'Auberge posted job openings today for poker dealers, supervisors, and a poker manager. Must be getting close.

I never heard of the place, but I'm scouring the country looking for a dealer job right now, and this place looks like a jewel in an unexpected setting. My app is in.

Please correct me if i'm wrong but isn't the poker room there only going to have like 8 tables? Idk though, the games might be good due to the fact that L'Auberge is known for the place with the bigger table games.

Hi 2+2, I am the poker room representative for the new room opening at L'Auberge. Our room is opening in about six weeks and will have seven tables. Small, but we are anticipating lots of action. I can answer any questions anyone may have, please feel free to ask about anything.

Sweeeet.

Will it be separated from the casino floor?
Where exactly will it be?
What limits will you be spreading? (Hopefully a 1/2 or 1/3 nl!!!)
Tournaments?
Comps?
Have any details for the poker room in BR?
Can I have a free round of golf please?

And something you probably won't want to comment on but...

It's a real bummer that you are only going to have 7 tables. I think most people will agree that L'auberge has every opportunity here to create a big destination room in the poker landscape but is choosing not to. Will they be against expansion in the future? Of course I understand the whole sq. ft. limitations of a riverboat. Never enough room for slots I guess.

Anyway, Good Luck.

Someone has asked about us in a L'Auberge thread, so be sure to check us out there also. But to answer your questions:

The room will be somewhat separate, there will be a wall for the railbirds. It will still be open though, not glassed or walled in completely separate from the casino. We're working to be able to keep the noise levels to a minimum. The room will be where the Stage Bar is, closest to the buffet and Ember. We are currently tearing that out for the poker room.

Unfortunately, because we are only seven tables, there will not be enough room to spread 1/2 or have tournaments. You are right, there is a huge opportunity here and I would love to have more tables. Hopefully the room will be as successful as we think and expansion will take place in the future. It's not that we "choose" not to open a big destination-type room, but with the limited amount of space available decisions are made that attempt to maximize revenue.

Comps will be banked the same as with what you earn playing slots or table games. With our comp system, whatever you earn is worth double in comps or half in cash. You will earn 50 cents an hour, so in actuality you are earning $1 an hour. If you want "rakeback" you can do so at 25 cents an hour.

Nothing on Baton Rouge yet. More information coming in the near future.

I'll work on the golf...in the meantime if you have any more questions please let me know.

I use to play at Isle of Capri-Lake Charles when the spread $20-$40 Limit. Any interest in resuscitating Mid Stakes limit at the Isle. Perhaps we could get a group to agree to meet there at a prearranged time

Absolutely. If there is enough to spread a game, we will. I would love to have a regular red chip limit game, like a 15/30. If it is something that will be a regular game, we can arrange to have it a certain day or certain days of the week.

been waiting a couple years for the poker room to open. Kind of disappointing on the # of tables but it's better then nothing. I'm excited to see what kind of action will be there. Keep us updated on when it's opening.

Anyone know when the room will close if the vote in shreveport passes this weekend? I heard if the vote to move the boat passes, then the room will have to close or move within 24 hours.

They sold the boat with the poker room on it. It is an option, that has to be voted on. I hear they will move the poker room to the other boat.

So what's going on with poker in the area? Can anyone report on the action at the Isle and/or L'auberge during the week?

(3) 2-5 games and (1)6-12 game at Lauberge on Sunday. I heard they have not had enough people for the tournements during the week.

Isle is moving the room to the other boat. I heard 8 tables at the first of the year.

Right now at the Isle they have some very nice promotions. Aces cracked is running all the time at $100. They also have tournaments Fri-Mon. Saturday Dec.10 at noon, they will be having a 10k guaranteed deepstack. Blind levels will go up every 30 minutes.

By "other boat" do you mean the other (south) boat at the Isle of Capris Lake Charles?
