There doesn't seem to be a thread for my favorite room to play at when I'm in Tahoe. Great place to play in the tourist seasons: late June to Labor Day and the ski season They spread 1/2 200 max and 10/20 Crazy Pineapple. 1/2 is loose and passive, while the Crazy Pineapple is geriatric city. It would be great to hear from others that frequent this room.

I'll be moving to Lake Tahoe later this summer and am on the fence between SLT and IV. Currently I play between 30-40 hrs/week and know that the majority of action will be in Reno (Peppermill, Atlantis, etc.). My question is this: is there enough weekday action in SLT to justify the extra 20 mile drive to Reno? Also, I've seen gaming revenue numbers for the north shore and impressive YOY growth. Does the Hyatt spead NL games during the week, or any other casino on the north shore for that matter?

During the peak season: winter and summer the room is open 7 days a week from 7 pm till late. The games tend to be worse during the off season and mid week. Also, they only spread two games. The smaller game is 1/2 200 MAX NL. The bigger game is 10/20 Crazy pineapple NO KILL.

Appreciate the insight SH. Curious, do you play down at Harvey's and if so, what's their mid-week action like? From all accounts, it seems that SLT has been in the decline for a few years now.

This room is not run well. I would not recommend playing here....ever. Especially when you are only 20-30 min from Reno with better action and floor staff/dealers that actually know what they are doing.

The room is fine. Yeah, they don't have dealing machines, a board, promotions, and high limit action. But the staff is friendly and fair and I think they compare favorably to the floor staff at the Bay Area casinos.

Where in this general area is the best action? I've noticed that Sacramento has a few decent casinos but that's a solid 2 hrs away. I'm hoping you don't have to drive as far away as the Bay Area to find good action.

Peppermill, Reno, 40 minutes
Thunder Valley, Lincoln, CA 1.75 hours
Capitol Casino, Sacramento, 2.00 hours
Oaks Card Club, Emeryville, 3.75 hours
The Venetian, 8 hours

Seriously.......Peppermill for sure, and ElDorado downtown sometimes. Atlantis has become sad, although they've hired an old pro manager from Peppermill.

I definitely appreciate the advice although I sound like a broken record. Coming from FL with a brief stop off in CO, I'm trying to make sure we land in the right area in NoCal/NV.

As an FYI, if anyone is ever in South FL, make sure to check out the poker scene; Hard Rock, Gulfstream, Magic City, Mardi Gras, The Isle, and Palm Beach Kennel Club. There are a lot of people with way too much $ and the action is super juicy!

I'm headed to this casino in about 15 minutes, I honestly doubt that there is much going on in the card room right now though.

Empty room, ended up going to reno. Peppermill room is dope, reminds me of the Venetian kinda. 2am and I'm on a wait list for 1/2 on a Wednesday. 10/20 table running with pretty sick action right now too.

How many tables were running in total? Any 2/5 action? Curious what a Wednesday looks like.

Games run, but they are not the best in the off-season. The best months are July, August, December, January, and February.

Is there any poker in North Lake Tahoe these days. I was at the Hyatt in November and the poker room didnt exist anymore. Are any of the other local casinos spreading games?

Thanks!
